Good for him and good to hear, in this day and age I think any sort of reaction is a good one. It sucks when you have PPVs and there is literally no heat for most of the show.

Baron Corbin reminds me of The Great Khali. He has that intense look that is missing in wrestlers today. Wrestlers aren't suppose to look like Average Joes. He also continues to bring it and prove everybody wrong. I hope he does win it all. God bless America and Baron Corbin.

MSG is the litmis test for whether someone is over or not.

MSG was sold out unlike the rest of the year where only a niche fanbase go to shows and the arenas have to be blanketed. there was casuals and they didn't respond to the niche favorites.

WWE gets about 4,000-5,000 people for Raw. 5,000 x 52 shows a year = 260,000 fans.

Booking for the 2 million viewers at home shouldn't be directed by a niche of 260,000 fans or the less than 500,000 on the internet that know the inner workings of the business.

That's why there is a disconnect between what fanatics in arenas cheer and chant for and the casuals/viewers at home as we see with ratings.

While Rollins gets cheered off and on every week by 5,000 in arenas.(since it's not every single week, that means 125,000 average fans a year), the 120,000 fans shouldn't be catered over the 500,000-1 million fans who left during his push.

Remember ticket prices are high hence only fanatics go, they will pay any price.

I think Corbin gets heat because he was apart of shows with Rollins that drew low, and people gave him the heat for it when it's proven Rollins was drawing the lowest ratings in history(no exaggeration) without Corbin.

Never imagined the day I would hear this used as a positive.

I mean, they are similar in a few ways...

LOL

As much as he has been exposed to the audience, he should be way more over.

However, don't get too cocky, they have always made sure to portray him as a loser, so it would not surprise me if he loses the KOTR final.

Imagine being delusional enough to blame the low numbers on Seth Rollins and to imply that Baron Corbin is a "draw" (let alone falsely claiming that he's more over) :mj4

I never said Corbin is a draw. he is over with the remaining viewers.

Rollins is the fault for the low numbers, why is he involved in 4 of the lowest hours in Raw history?

Why does viewer retention decrease when he happens to be in the 3rd hour?

Corbin is more over than Rollins. his heel heat draws more than Rollins babyface sympathy.

I don't like either wrestler, so I favor neither.

Rollins has out-popped Corbin consistently over the past couple of years, and he's (almost) always received better/louder reactions by multiple crowds too.

Corbin is certainly not more over than Rollins :lmao

Vince is the one who's ACTUALLY at fault with the low numbers. The blame is definitely not on Rollins (nor is it with any other talent in particular). Maybe if Vince actually knew how to book his talents well and did a good job writing his shows on a consistent basis, you'd see more people be more invested enough to stick around for the 3rd hours.

It really isn't anything deeper than that.

Corbin is terrible, just terrible. There's absolutely nothing special about him. He's sloppily-built, unimposing, boring, bald, and as bland as white bread. He's not going to attract any new fans to the product. I can't for the life of me understand why they continue to push him.

I always thought they should do an angle where he suffers burns on half of his face, ala Two Face from the Batman films. That way, he could wear some sort of mask or cloak and look much more imposing, given his size. It would also give him a much more interesting character.

He’s jacked and could shoot destroy 95% of the roster lmao. Strowman, Lesnar, and Lashley would be the only guys I’d take in a fight over him. In his beater he looks badass too. His character isn’t pushed as one to “draw new fans”. You don’t get bitch slapped, guitars smashed on you, geeked out to people who are supposed to be the guys to draw new viewers, have the biggest losing percentage in the company, ALL while getting no commuppance if you’re in that role. His role is as jobber to the stars and always has been. They’re FINALLY giving him a string of wins since he returns and what? Oh look at that! He’s getting cheered in the garden and people on this forum are finally saying he’s good in ring now. Corbin has been consistently good DESPITE the garbage they give him. That’s a sign of a good professional wrestler. If they actually did get fully behind him (they will by next year) he’s going to be a solid and serviceable top heel champ.

Rollins gets cheered, not every week but lets say he gets cheered every week.

There's 5,000-10,000 people going to Raw shows(the shows don't sell out, seats are blanketed/tarped)

That's aprox. 260,000-520,000 people attending Raw every year in total. even if he's cheered by every single on of them, the 260,000-520,000 do not represent the average fan, especially the 800,000+ people who have tuned out since he has been pushed.

260,000-520,000 fans doesn't make someone over.

Then you add the fact that he isn't cheered every week, divide that and it's 100,000-200,000 fans.

Cobrin gets hate wherever he goes, every single week(except MSG). he is more over as a heel than Rollins is as a face.

Neither are over, neither draw, but Corbin draws more than Rollins.

Rollins getting cheered in 5,000 arena crowds off/on don't suggest anything.

Plus, volume of cheers does not prove it either 5,000 fans can chant burn it down louder than 10,000 fans cheering someone else.

What matters is who attracts more people.

Volume of cheers is irrelevant.

Rollins can get cheered by 5,000 crowds chanting burn it down louder than 10,000 arenas doing the Yes chant for Daniel Bryan, Bryan is more over because of the quantity of people cheering rather than the volume of less.

You make it seem like I care for Corbin like that. you know who's really over?

Braun Strowman, he gets more people cheering consistently and more viewers during his hours and on YT than Rollins.

Braun usually gets 4+ million viewers on YT alone, he is a draw.

I watched the show. Corbin got cheered throughout the match and won to a pop. If WWE edited their Youtube video its because...oh right, because he's a heel. Don't question something you didn't even watch live.
I still don`t see a victory over Gable and a postponed crowning ceremony helping him lot. Let`s see what they make out of it in SD ...

I've never been his biggest fan but in fairness he's slotted into a good midcard heel slot. I think that's his level in fairness. He's not good enough to be a main eventer, but he can fit into the midcard and be a decent heel there.
