He was a sleazy old bastard at the best of times but there's never been a better wrestling backstage interviewer.

Hard to fathom that although Mean Gene is older than time itself - the owner of this company is only three years younger.

I honestly thought he was in his 80s, he looked well into his 50s in the 1980s

The very best of the best back stage interviewer in the history of Pro Wrestling, made everything feel real, sold everything expertly, why oh why Vince doesn't use him as a blueprint for todays presenters God only knows.

Unbelievable to think theres only three years between him and Vince McMahon, while McMahon is starting to age a bit these days given what McMahon was doing in the late 90s compared with how Mene Gene looked.

Anyone who hasn't should watch Legend's House. For a man who conducted himself with such professionalism on air, in real life he is a foul mouthed, dirty old man with a wicked sense of humor that drinks like a fish.
Happy birthday Mean Gene.
