When he first started insulting Daniel Bryan on NXT and making 'shoot comments' and references to the IWC I thought he was coming into his own. The guy does seem like he would be a better heel.

What the hell happened to that Michael Cole?

Now, months later, he's gone from improved to an over the top piece of crap. He OVERACTS and OVERSELLS EVERYTHING and it gets really annoying. And him, being a play-by-play announcer with no real face foil (King's comebacks are weak and Josh Matthews was just practically not even there). My father sat down to watch a little RAW earlier today during Miz vs Daniel Bryan and between Alex Riley and Cole, they were ruining the match with their 'man-crush' of Miz. To someone who doesn't even watch wrestling that much, they might not even be able to tell straight away that the Miz is supposed to be the heel, what with how Cole was burying Daniel Bryan.

Just everything he does is fucking annoying! I can't stand him anymore and I never thought I'd say this, but I wish we had old school Michael Cole back. There is a line between brilliant heel and over the top annoying douchebag, and he's crossed it by far.

There's two things you can do about Michael Cole:

Michael Cole sucked before and sucks now. His heel turn isn't working, those aren't boos from "heat" they're boos of "you suck, now go away."

This isn't going to go well for you OP the majority of people who hated Cole before are now on his dick so prepare to get flamed. But I do agree with you to a extent, he does not focus on any match where Miz isn't involved, he does overact to an obnoxious level but he's supposed to be an annoying heel so I don't have a problem with that. My main problem with him is that he's the lead announcer and can't call a match to save his life, you can put your heel character over and still call a match JBL did it and so can Cole.

He was good on NXT with the Danielson feud but then he just became obnoxious and burries all the faces and since hes the play by play guy its even harder to get the faces over since he sucks at that as well while hes coming all over the heels.

As a character hes become more interesting but hes still horrible in just about all aspects of commentary besides his delivery.

I think they need a play by play guy on Raw now that Cole has stopped doing that job. Cole is much better on Color commentary than he ever was at play by play.

That's exactly what I mean. With no strong face to put over the faces it just makes the unestablished faces look lame because there's nobody to bring out their positives.

And the main event faces like Cena and Orton...Cole seems to enter alternate personality mode when they get into their big move sequences and seems to half mark out for them despite hating on them earlier. It's horrible.

They masked his abysmal commentating by turning him into an annoying guy that sits with the announcers for some reason. It's pure genius.

I agree with your stance. His character has improved by miles, but it's gotten in the way of his commentary, which was already suffering.

Cole needs to get out from behind the table and get behind the mic regularly. GM, manager for a wrestler, something like that. That's where he belongs. That's where he could really come into his own.

Cole was very funny tonight. WWE just needs a face to call the action while Cole bashes everything. Matthews is okay but Cole overpowers him, and Josh has trouble calling the match. Cole needs to know when to settle down so that can happen.

I was just watching the Wrestlemania match between Ric Flair and Macho Man, and it came to me. People say Cole's a poor man's JR, no he's a very poor man's Bobby The Brain. The way Bobby was backing up Flair the whole match was the right way to do it, plus he had Gorilla as the counter point. The way Cole does it for the Miz sucks.

Agreed. Matthews does a good job, but his personality lacks impact.
