Was it just me, or was that some fantastic work by "Dashing" on last night's SmackDown!? It was almost Foley-esque in terms of being a diatribe that started with him speaking low and slow, before peaking with some intensity in his voice - all centered around the actions of one person, and what that person did to practically ruin his life. That and it got some considerable screen time.

It's amazing how poles apart he and Ted are since their split from Legacy, and I hope we see more work like this from Cody.

Future main eventer for me.

I just caught the promo on YouTube as I missed the first hour of Smackdown. It was pretty damn good. Here and there, Rhodes shows a glimmer of greatness. Just as often, he's completely average, in my opinion, but he definitely has it in him to be great.

It's a very good promo, i thought it was hilarious to be honest, the promo content is shallow as hell but he delivered it in such dramatic and overexaggerating manner which made it more epic.

Some of Dashing's best work on the microphone, I was really impressed with this interview and I hope he isn't hinting at drop the Dashing gimmick altogether, it works for him because he can make it work.

Awesome promo...Very Mick Foley like, especially when he was talking bout Rey Mysterio not defining his life and he shouted "i do".

Personally, a very edgy (schizophrenic or paranoid probs isnt the best way of describing it) character where perhaps he wears some kind of face mask (not a full mask) to hide his face whilst competing but then doesnt wear it backstage and cuts promos with his back turned to the camera. Almost coming a sort of recluse to everyone. Would be interesting, and eventually he could turn it into a face character like Mankind was.

If booked right Cody could turn this into a Batmanesqe bad guy. Mankind meets Twoface if you will.
This is what I was thinking, in fact, I suggested the protective mask last week after his match with Rey.

On the Twoface thing, that ties in with another suggestion I made after he was punted by Orton. When you remember who his brother is, it makes a certain amount of sense to have Cody be similarly unhinged, not as a copy obviously but something that is hidden away in dirct opposition to the outward weirdness of Goldust.

If creative are thinking along those lines then the next logical step would be to unite the brothers as a tag-team, at least part of the time. The outward weirdness of Goldust could, if booked properly, enhance this new side of Cody. The gimmick has been watered down so much over the years that it's no longer effective at giving him a psychological advantage but, by making him the sane one, new life can be breathed into it while also helping Cody reach the next level.
