I have missed a lot of wrestling. I watched only some Wrestlemanias, and some few RAW. Lately I've became a fan again, after 10 years o so.

I was like "Holy shit" when I saw TLC 2013. People talked about CM Punk buried The Shield.

And it was pretty insane - a 3 against 1 handicap match.

I have never seen so big names getting buried so hard in a handicap match.

CM Punk took a big dump on Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Reigns big time.

CM Punk beat The Shield, by himself - clean. I was like WTF? :surprise:

That's harder burial than even SuperCena buring 3 top guys in a handicap match.

Burial of the year 2013? Or the century?

CM Punk buried The Shield. What I've heard Seth, Ambrose, Reigns wasn't happy about the outcome of the match.

And CM Punk cried he never got a push by WWE?

CM Punk took a dump on Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and Reings like I never seen before.

How did the internet react at this time?

Punk gets a pass because of Indys...but Cena just gets hate for anything similar, even though the person who made the call for Punk to job out the entire Shield is teh same guy who books Cena to win...

It's literally impossible for it to be 'the burial of the century', when they didn't move down the card at all. They went on to have huge matches vs The Wyatts and Evolution, one of them is the world champion, one of them main evented Wrestlemania and won the Rumble, and the other is currently the number 1 contender. They have huge plans for all of them, and you can tell they're intentionally being set up as the future of the main event, either all 3 of them or some combination. That's pretty much the exact opposite of a 'burial'.

The worst thing about this forum is people who see a word, and instead of finding out what it means, apply it to any situation they decide is appropriate.

Anyway, at least this match gave us that classic bit of the podcast.
"If you want him to look strong, why doesn't he win?!"
"We don't WANT him to beat you... but you have to make him look strong"

I'm convinced that half of this forum get so angry about wrestling, because they don't actually understand what they're watching.

If you have no perception of long term storytelling, or have only seen the result instead of watching the match, build up and fallout included, I can maybe see why this would seem like a big deal. Maybe.

So you wasn't watching at the time, watched a random match, saw the result and now you determine that as a burial, that term itself should be banned from this forum at times it gets overused that much.

Listen to Punk's podcast and the actual reasons why this happened. Other users have clarified it enough, but it was meant to be the start of the Shield break up at the time, and Punk didn't go into Vince's office and demand this win.

The bigger question is; How in the known universe was The Shield buried when they continued to have a massive push, beat EVOLUTION twice on PPV, and look at them now. One is the champion of the damn company.

Learn the facts and research might be in order first instead of just spouting out conjecture.
