Moviegoers had been watching the first midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises last Friday when suspected assailant James Holmes opened fire indiscriminately on the crowd, killing 12 and injuring dozens. On Saturday, Bale released a statement in response, saying, "Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."

Very thoughtful of him. It wasn't his fault or the Batman movie that "The Joker" was insane and went on a rampage but he took time out of his schedule to see these suffering people in the hospital. We need more people like him. (Y)

He didn't beat up his mother and sister. They got into a heated argument because they wanted to borrow a ton of money from Bale, and it was alleged that his sister then got into a fight with Bale's wife. I think the media just blew it up into something that it really wasn't, though.

Very cool of Bale to visit the Aurora victims. I heard of that Facebook campaign to have him appear as Batman, but I don't think that would've went over too well with everyone. Cool for the kids, maybe, but I'd rather just meet he man himself.
