Fans, have been speculating since Chris Jericho's return as to when he will be leaving the WWE. Sadly, we as fans can't just enjoy the time we have with our favorite stars. Instead, we either bash them for hanging on to long or leaving too soon.

I personally feel that in-ring wrestling is not a job that is meant to sustain a lifetime.

Yes, there are other options within the business that performers have, but there are only a select few that see past the business and make themselves successful elsewhere. Chris Jericho is one of those people, whether it's Fozzy, hosting TV or radio shows, or Dancing With the Stars, he manages to give his all and find new life outside of wrestling.

Now onto the topic at hand; "The Ayatollah of Rock N Rolla", has revealed a time frame in which he is to depart from WWE.

Chris Jericho recently did an interview on the red carpet at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. During the interview he said his current WWE run will finish up prior to SummerSlam.

Jericho said the reason is because of his band Fozzy and their plans. The band is schedule to release new music by the end of August and they will be touring as well.
If this is accurate, it is great news for Jericho and his band as they seemingly grow a bigger fan-base year after year. Ultimately, Y2J, has to make plans for life after wrestling. Otherwise, he will go the way of Ric Flair, Sting, and Hulk Hogan.

We may enjoy seeing these men at appearances or for special situations on-air. However, those three have managed to take up more TV time than they should at their respective ages.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing but respect for them as they have paved the way for modern day wrestling, I just wish they would have landed something backstage or outside of wrestling and retired gracefully.

In the end, Jericho will continue to thrive and probably return for another short stint in the future. That being said, the WWE should take this time to develop younger stars and stop relying on guys in their 40's for cheap pops.

It'll be a sad day when Jericho leaves but yu know it will happen soon, and knowing Jericho he isnt going to go out with a proper send off, he wants to go out like a villian and I am actually willing to accept that :)

Chris 41 coming 42 in Nov. He's been doing this for 22 years.

He will sooner or later retire.

I'm glad he has things to do after all of this. I'm glad he isn't going to be like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair at 60 still trying to fucking wrestle.

Believe it when I see it. Jericho's a pro at working the IWC and everyone else. Maybe it's true, and maybe he said it to just put it out there for people to pounce on.

I'll never have a problem with Jericho going away to concentrate on other things like his music, the guy has given it all for wrestling and has literally done it all. He has been incredibly selfless throughout his career and his eventual hall of fame induction will be a great moment, I don't think this is his final run because I think he will want to come back and use his last feud to really elevate someone by giving them the honour of being able to say they retired Y2J. Kassius Ohno would be the guy I'd give the nod to in about 12-18months time because I think they could have a kickass feud and it would really suit Ohno having that on his CV

It sucks that he is leaving. I just wonder why he doesn't get the same criticism as Rock, he shows up for a couple of months and leaves.

I kind of want him to take the title from Punk at Extreme Rules. As much as I'm loving Punk's run, I think that Jericho beating him for the title (right in Punk's home town, in front of Punk's family) would be a really exciting way to turn up the heat on their feud. It would be incendiary! Punk could get the title back and then they could have a Loser Leaves Town match (or something that explains Jericho's departure whilst simultaneously making Punk look awesome).

Way I see it, Punk beats Jericho and retains champion. Than Brock who has beaten Cena beats Jericho as a message that he's going for the title now and to back of. Jericho silently rides off into the night again until his next return.

Or maybe Jericho beats Punk, than spends the next few weeks dodging confrontations with him, than just before there big rematch, boom, his contract expires, he gives up the title and leaves without protest, having sufficiently trolled Punk and turned him Heel.
