Chris Jericho Talks WWE Stars Stealing His Moves, Lashing Out At Punk

On wrestlers stealing his
moves and gimmicks in WWE
today and lashing out at CM
Punk for doing so: "There
seems to be a lack of respect for
the forefathers who came in and
did it first and it's not just [CM]
Punk, it's a whole litany of guys
from Miz to Cody Rhodes to
Mason Ryan to Sin Cara to Kelly
Kelly, everybody is stealing
moves, looks, ideas. Brian
Pillman once told me if you want
to make it in wrestling you have
to do something that nobody
has done before and nobody is
doing that and they are coming
off as second rate copies of Chris
Jericho and that's maybe why
these guys aren't striking and I
watch it and think, 'Seriously,
again?'
"A couple of years ago you had
'Miz 4, John Cena 0', where did
that come from? Conspiracy
Theory, where did that come
from? Best in the World, where
did that come from? Wearing
suits, talking slow, using big
words, using certain moves, you
know Miz used the word
'troglodyte' a few weeks ago and
I'm like seriously? If there ever
was a word associated with Chris
Jericho that would be it.
"These guys have to start
thinking of their own stuff and
some times I see some of them
and I'm like oh come on. It's not
like it's influenced. At least give
credit where credit is due.
Chris Jericho is right

Re: Chris Jericho Talks WWE Stars Stealing His Moves, Lashing Out At Punk

I don't know
how I feel about this
because, well, sometimes
in the course
of human events,
there comes a time when
we, as human beings
with certain inalienable
rights, have to make a
stand for freedom. troglodyte.
If Jericho really believes
that people are stealing
his moves and his
mic stylings, than
perhaps he should return
to the ring and show us all
why he deserves the
title, "Best in the
World". Otherwise, I
will gladly let CM Punk
(or Danielson) retain that
moniker; after all, troglodyte,
I can hardly
think of any moves
that Punk "stole"
from Jericho. I mean,
"talking slow"? REALLY?
"Talking slow" is signature
Jericho and not
something that
anyone else is allowed
to do? How does that make
any sense at all?
There is only so much you
can do, within the confines
of entertainment, troglodyte,
without repeating yourself.
Comedians know this, TV show
writers knows this, movie
producers know this, etc.
It just so happens that
this is a relatively
new phenomena in wrestling
because the so-called
"Attitude Era" really
pushed troglodyte the boundaries,
and thus men like Jericho
are now watching people
wrestle who were probably
inspired to enter
the business by Jericho
and those during his era
to begin with. So of
course they are going to
be influenced by him
and might, at times,
do things that remind
Jericho of himself. It does
not mean that they are "steal-
ing" troglodyte his moves and what-not.

wrestlinginc.com also what happened to your appreciation thread
I haven't a clue what you're referring to. lol If there was a thread and you can't see it anymore it probably means it was closed and/or deleted. *shrugs*

As for what Jericho is saying. I agree. It's not a knock so much as a criticism meant simply to motivate improvement.

But then again, Jericho is God.

I agree with what he's trying to say, which is that the writers/wrestlers should be more creative and original with the content they put out otherwise it gets boring.

The same Jericho that flat out stated in his second book that he got the Codebreaker from seeing a Japanese wrestler do it? If he's serious, he should come back as a heel and let it play out in an angle. Or have a heel Punk or heel Miz start copying Jericho directly and having that prompt the return of a face Jericho.

I don't see Miz as being similar to Jericho. I actually see Miz & Jericho as opposites.

Jericho wore suits to distance himself from the loud, brash, and flashy Y2J persona. Miz wears suits to BE loud, brash, and flashy.

Laughable, idiotic quotes from somebody who would be eaten alive by you lot if it was anybody else. It's hilarious just how dillusional he comes off here, trying to imply that he invented the idea of calling himself the best in the world, and wearing suits plus using big words was invented by him.

Looks a lot like a work to me, otherwise Jericho should stop being bitter and come back to the E to confront them. that should bring in some $.

Current CM punk and Jericho Heel or face feud will rock and why not have them wrestle at WM.......both are great ring workers with great on mic so both should give it a go. Miz is way behind what he seems to be. he clearly isnt a ME.....

Jericho is such a superb troll if he is trying to claim that he originated the concept of the unbeaten streak :D
And I have to say, if theres a word or phrase I associate with Jericho, at least his later run character, its "gelatinous tapeworms", not Troglodyte.

Didn't Jericho steal the codebreaker from someone? Not to mention the Walls of Jericho just being a Boston Crab modification. Pure genuine ideas don't really exist. Ideas come from bits of other ideas pieced together.

Unless they actually invented the moves then wrestlers bitching about things like that are pretty irritating. I'm fairly sure Jericho didn't invent any move, so I don't see his point. He also wasn't the first to call himself the best in the world, nor was he the first guy in a suit.
