how can i get a picture above my name on the infomation part on the left hand side of the screen

That's an avatar and this isn't the right forum but to get one you can either make one yourself if you have photoshop or some other program or you can request one if you have 100 posts or more.

And when you have one, you go to your user cp < Edit avatar and upload it.
