Bruno Sammartino Trashes Stone Cold Steve Austin

Bruno Sammartino spoke out in a recent interview about some of the top stars of the 80s and 90s specifically "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair.

Of Austin Sammartino said he was vulgar and only "got over" because of his mouth and that Sammartino did not think much of him as a performer.

Austin replied on his twitter account.

"I have always respected Bruno's career and what he accomplished. However, I could give a rat's ass of his opinion of SCSA."

Sammartino also called Hogan a "steroid abuser" and said that Vince McMahon knew Hogan was not capable of being on the road and going to the monthly shows as had been done in the past but rather Hogan was little more than a merchandising machine.

Ric Flair was called a "pathetic idiot" by Sammartino after an incident where Flair reportedly ran from Sammartino when Bruno was approaching Flair to say hello.

Bruno simply never moved along with the times. He's still stuck in the 70s and can't understand that no one wants to see his style of wrestling anymore. He's a great legend and I really hope that he eventually accepts that his pro wrestling died when Superstar Billy Graham became champ. He would be an amazing addition to the hall of fame & props to SCSA for being foul mouthed in his response.

Slamming Austin is just stupid... the man got over because that was what the fans wanted. And what really makes Sammartino look like a bitter asshole is the fact that he forgets (or doesn't care) that Austin's ability was severely limited by his neck after he broke it. Before that he was one of the best in the business.

The few times he's opened his mouth, Bruno's managed to lose more and more respect in my eyes.

- Hogan wasn't a good champion for the WWF and didn't really draw.
- Austin got over because he was vulgar, not talented.

He didnt only get over because of his foul mouth. Its because he did what every employee wants to do to their boss and thats kick the crap out of them week in and week out and make their bosses life a living hell. Much like many bosses do to their employees simply because they're power hungry assholes lol. He just had alot of appeal and thats one of the main reasons for him getting over.

Austin solid as wrestler before neck injuries but he still able to pull good matches in 2001...
