This was a work shoot from Raw during 1997. I really thought this was a great piece of worked but the stuff Bret said he really felt at the time. I mean look at Vince Mcmahons face he has no idea what Bret is going to say next.

I thought this was one of the best interviews done on Raw in a long time. I am sure many new fans have never saw this and only saw Bret when he returned recently and a few times before.

This video also shows just how good Bret Hart is on the mic.

Bret Hart in '97 on the mic was better than HBK ever was on the mic. These idiots who talk crap about Bret now learned about him from wrestling forums, wikipedia, video games, and youtube and they base their judgement of his "mic skills" on how he talks as a 55 year old stroke victim who left the business 12 years ago. They don't like him because he had legitimate issues with their heroes that they are told are the greatest by the WWE hype machine. Morons.

Bret really got more of a chance on the mic around that time and together with the work with WWE gave us some great mic work.

I would say he was just as good as Hbk

Excellent stuff by the Hitman, this worked shoot was LEAGUES ahead of punks crap..sadly punk will always be remembered only for that promo and Bret obviously wont..

THATS the difference...
I know you pride yourself on being one of the many Punk haters on the board, but if you genuinely believe that crappy "shoot" was superior to Punk's gamechanger, then I don't know what to say. That wasn't even a shoot, and he didn't even break kayfabe. To compare this to Punk's epic, groundbreaking speech is bad enough, but to say it was "leagues ahead" of Punk's, is just plain silly. Besides, this thread should've been posted in classic wrestling - it's there for a reason.

Ah the good old days. I think the great thing about Bret was that he was very believable, in the ring and on the mic. I always believed he genuinely had beef with whomever he was feuding with at the time. I know he wasn't golden on the mic, but he certainly wasn't as awful as some people make out.

I love the rant he gave after he was screwed (again!) after a cage match just before WM13, I think it was. Man, did he let VM have it!! Rep who ever finds me the vid of that.

Same but watching it back we can see just how real it was.

I agree. Even watching that back just now, I still believe it!
