"It was released on Switch today, anyone get it? People on twitter were complaining about this port. Graphics weren't as good and some other glitches. Anyone have any input?
I've had it for a week on Xbox with zero issues.
Hopefully they get things straightened out, cause this is truly a good game. Any fan of the Metroidvania games is going to love it. You would think with the amount of time this game was in development, there wouldn't be these issues. However I believe this game was originally in development for the Wii U, which probably didn't help."
We have been listening to the feedback regarding Switch performance. Our goal is for everyone, regardless of platform, to be able to enjoy the game and have it run smoothly. We want to live up to your, and our, expectations.
Throughout the QA process we have been addressing performance issues in the game. Update 1.01 was published to Switch prior to launch to add content and improve performance. It did not accomplish as much as we had hoped and we need to do more.
To address the concerns brought up by the community we are immediately shifting resources to improve performance and stability for the Switch. You can expect a number of small updates that will improve different areas of the game rather than waiting longer for one big update. We will have more details as we dive into the work.
We thank you for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.

Good to know they are working on it. Doesn't come out on Switch in the UK until Friday so hopefully they'll have something ready by then.
That's a pretty big list, I'm going to have to give some of those a shot. The only one I played was Axiom Verge. I thought it was fantastic, the combination of the 8-bit graphics with that killer soundtrack did it for me. I'd give it a 4.5.I've had zero issues on my SWITCH version. The only problem is I'm losing sleep and unable to stop playing. I've read zero complaints about performance till I saw that quote.
Any who, I compiled a list of 2D platformers / Metroidvania games i've played over the last few years. I no doubt missed a few, but wanted to share this list as I've scoured the globe to find more. Thanks! Not all of them are the standard Metoridvania, but a 2D platformer with similar elements. I didn't even include my current Steam wishlist with 8 games on it, 2 yet released (Hollow Knight 2 and Blasphemous). That's a pretty big list, I'm going to have to give some of those a shot. I may have unpopular review opinions, but I definitely found some games had mechanics that ruined a good game or saved a bad game.
