BUT HE IS THEA'S FATHER! Yes, Oliver, he was the reason his son died but keep him alive because Thea shares DNA with a mass murderer (Y)

Excluding Oliver forgetting that Sara died somewhere like 5 minutes after it, the show has given zero real justification why Merlyn is not in prison, let alone alive. They've made him a Villain Sue.
That scene where Oliver secretly gave Merlyn the "Ra's ring" or whatever, I thought we were going to see ARGUS storm in because of Oliver double crossing him, but nope. I was like "Oliver you freakin evil and dumb bastard fpalm." And this is supposed to be the beginning of his road to being the more heroic GREEN ARROW? Lol....

Plus it doesn't even make sense as to way he'd be "happy" with retiring. It's like "ummm....Malcom Merlyn is the new Ra's now....you really think Star City is the safest now? Especially with only Thea, a newbie Black Cannary, and Diggle(armed with only a glock) protecting the city?" fpalm.

Also, dude. Oliver could have backed off the deal after. He could have given the ring to Nyssa or something like that instead of handling the keys to the kingdom literally to the same guy who almost killed off half the city. Like fuck it, he feels obligated to not betray fucking Malcolm and the act of giving the power to Merlyn was never explained from the standpoint of the LoA, though they better follow up on that.

And really spot on about team Arrow being at their lowest power level while Merlyn has a fucking army.

Oliver is changed by the power of a super awkward sex scene into the heroic Green Arrow!

Just overall stupidity. People complain about BC's arc but that was the most realistic thing to happen on this fucking season fpalm

'Arrow' Casts DC Villain Baron Blitzkrieg for Season 4

Jimmy Akingbola will recur as an adversary for Stephen Amell's Oliver.

The CW is enlisting a new foil for Arrow's Oliver (Stephen Amell).

British actor Jimmy Akingbola has nabbed the recurring role of DC Comics villain Baron Reiter — well known as Baron Blitzkrieg — on Arrow's fourth season.

Akingbola will recur on the series as Baron Reiter, an adversary for Oliver, and appear in the show's prominent flashback scenes. In the comics, the character is the leader of the nefarious group Shadowspire.

The fictional crime group Shadowspire first made their appearance in Deathstroke No. 53 and supplied South American drug cartels with weapons, transportation, technology and intelligence. The Baron's other operatives in the group included Steelhawk, Kodrescu, Mourn I and Mourn II.

The role marks Akingbola's second stateside part following an episode of History's Sons of Liberty. The actor is best known for roles on Holby City, Holby Blue and, more recently, Rev. He's repped by DBA, Hamilton Hodell and Authentic Talent.

For Arrow, Akingbola becomes the latest season four cast addition. He joins Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk, Alexander Calvert as Lonnie Machin/Anarky and Echo Kellum as DC superhero Mister Terrific.

Re: Arrow Discussion Thread.

As much as I think the Olicity stuff has been poorly handled, anyone else bothered by the fact that Oliver basically handed over all the resources in the world to Malcom Merlyn and allowed him to be in an even bigger position of power, instead of bringing him to justice like he should've been? I mean this dude killed 503 people at the end of season 1, to think Oliver would just overlook that just to be in good relations with his sister's father is very un-hero like IMO.

And TBH it would've been better to see Nyssa as the new Ra's. It just seems so out of character to me to see Nyssa kneel to Merlyn after the way he killed Sara, regardless if he's the new Ra's or not.

Anyway fuck Marc Guggenheim
I mentioned all this stuff before man and its quite frustrating . Remember, he was also the reason that Oliver's mom nearly got the death penalty too had he really died in season 1. Oliver put way too much blind faith into Malcolm and I don't even remember the reason Oliver even needed him , it was kind of "But i need him!" and in the end he didn't actually really need him . Sara's death was also something that pissed me off too, in the end it didn't matter who killed her or why. Her death was made useless and a plot device to get Olicity to happen. Nyssa was the only person who cared about who killed Sara after episode 8 or so and she ends up being a slave to the man who killed Sara . Olicity was shoehorned so much that it exposed Emily Bett Rickards as a mediocre actress outside of being comedic relief . They got every cast member on the show to tell her that they were "destined" to be together basically and the fact that she became the smartest person in all of the DCU miraculously in 2 seasons was absurd. She had to have gotten the 2nd most screen time during all of season 3

And it looks like we'll get more Olicity in the season and will be one big happy couple, my guess is they get married too at seasons end .Part of me hopes there's a heel turn for Felicity and that she's actually Damien Darhk's daughter who was sent to track Oliver but that got destroyed during the flashbacks to Starling City.

Season 4 Will Focus On "Magic And Mysticism"

Speaking to a roundtable of reporters at SDCC (via Comicbook.com), Amell revealed that "Oliver alludes very early on in the season that [magic] is something that he's seen before, so clearly that will play into this year's flashbacks for him." This makes sense, with former League Of Assassins member Damien Dahrk set to be the season's big bad. It also adds further cause for the introduction of Matt Ryan's John Constantine as a guest star on the show.

Arrow Casts Teen Wolf Star J.R. Bourne As Double Down

J.R. Bourne has been cast as DC Comics' villain 'Double Down'/'Jeremy Tell' for the fourth season of The CW's Arrow, according to The Wrap.

In the comics, Double Down is a villain that tends to battle The Flash, not Oliver Queen, but for the television universe he'll make his first appearance--3rd episode--in Star City.

For the show, he'll be a metahuman that can "can turn his playing card tattoos into deadly weapons." But in the comics, Double Down was a gambler that gained his powers from a cursed deck of cards that came from a man he murdered after losing to him in a high stakes poker game. Double Down is a sore loser!

The 45-year-old Canadian-born actor is best known for playing 'Martouf' from Stargate SG-1 and 'Chris Argent' from MTV's Teen Wolf.

Arrow’s fourth season premieres October 7th at 8:00PM on The CW.

Arrow Taps Star Trek: Voyager Alumna Jeri Ryan as Potential New Mayor

Arrow is taking aim at Jeri Ryan, tapping the Star Trek: Voyager vet to guest star in Season 4.

Per AccessHollywood.com, the actress will appear in Episode 2, titled “The Candidate,” as Jessica Danforth, a friend of the Queen family.

As teased in Ask Ausiello, the character is vying to be the new mayor and is a longtime pal of Moira’s; as such, she was once close with Oliver and Thea. Her political ambitions will make her a target for a menacing antagonist.

Ryan’s many, many TV credits include Body of Proof, Helix, Major Crimes, Warehouse 13, Leverage, The O.C. and Boston Public.

Arrow returns Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 8/7c on The CW.

All interesting casting/characters choices but I'm already at a point when all that doesn't matter. The Arrow writers (Guggenheim specifically) have shown that they don't know and don't care about developing characters much less ones originating from the comics. I've always wanted them to bring in Catman but now I'm glad that at this point there seems no possibility for it, because it would be just another underdeveloped/underused/propping character. And Oliver will now be the Green Arrow after this nauseating season.

Rutina Wesley Joins ARROW Season 4

With Hannibal's cancellation, actress Rutina Wesley is now free to join another genre show. After stints on Hannibal Lector prequel and True Blood, it looks as if Wesley may be exchanging frights for tights. The Wrap reports that she is the latest addition to Arrow season 4 after Parker Young was announced as the new love interest for Thea Queen (Willa Holland). Will she have a connection to Echo Kellum's Curtis Holt, who will become Mr. Terrific. Or will she have connection to Neal McDonough's Damien Darhk and the H.I.V.E.? Furthermore, will Wesley appear in present-day, flashbacks or both?

Arrow season 4 premieres on October 7th at 8PM on The CW. The show stars Stephen Amell, Holland, Katie Cassidy, Paul Blackthorne, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards and John Barrowman.

A new face is coming to Starling City!

Enlisted star Parker Young has landed a meaty recurring role on The CW's Arrow for the upcoming fourth season, ETonline has learned exclusively.

Young, who broke through as the lovable jock Ryan Shay on ABC's critically-lauded comedy Suburgatory, will play Alex Davis, described as a smart and driven young man, who will work for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and become a potential love interest for Thea (Willa Holland).

I sort of wish Duhamel played Hawkeye instead of Jeremy Reiner in Avengers. He comes off as more the Clint Barton in the comics than Reimer. If he smiled a little more, that is. ;)

It's been confirmed, Starling City has been renamed to Star City.
