Re: Arrow Discussion Thread.

Why would the Arrow be colorful? He's supposed to be stealthy, bright green and flashiness isn't stealthy. Is he supposed to be running around looking like a parrot? o_O The biggest let down for me in this series was he stopped killing people and started using gimmicky arrows. Not cool! Only so much you can do with an assassin who cannot do any assassinating! It would be like making a PG show about an exotic dancer and her crazy life, it just wouldn't be very good and limits what you can do.

Besides he's killed like 30+ people! It's not like if he doesn't kill now he's a great guy. Lol. That and also team arrow is just too big, way too many people know who he is and it's like 7 damn people. That's way too much, there needs to be some more drama, people need to die. My guess is after the badass version of him went away they really couldn't do much with him.
Because they've already stripped everything away about the character as it is. The least he could do is actually have some colour to his attire. As for not being stealthy...who cares? Suspension of disbelief because the guy should have been caught in season 1 episode 1 . If they wanted "stealthy" then he should be wearing dark blue or black because it isn't like he isn't named the "Green Arrow" for nothing

Him being a killer was the shows biggest mistake and they actually listened to the fans for the most part. At the end of the day, he's just another Bruce Wayne clone that DC/WB likes to do. They removed everything political about the character also

Matt Ryan in talks to play Constantine in season 4.

During IGN's own interview with Arrow stars Amell and Emily Bett Rickards and executive producer Wendy Mericle this past weekend at Comic-Con, the topic of Constantine living on in the Arrow universe was raised and if it was still a possibility - especially given that more mysticism will be brought into the show in Season 4 via the introduction of DC Comics' Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough..

"Yeah, we really want to do it," said Mericle. "It's something we've been talking to DC about and it's just a question of some political things, but also the actor's schedule. We're trying to work it out, but we don't know 100 percent if it's going to happen."

"Fingers crossed," added Amell."

But we're really optimistic and we would love to have him," said Mericle.

I would love to see Constantine make his way over. I thought i read somewhere that the Dark Justice League movie is dead and if so i would love for CW to give us that as a show as well.

‘Arrow’ Casts Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific for Season 4

Echo Kellum will join the CW’s “Arrow” in the recurring role of Curtis Holt (aka Mr. Terrific) in season four, Variety has confirmed.

Curtis is described as a technological savant and inventor who works at Palmer Technologies under the supervision of Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards). As revealed at Comic-Con, Curtis will also be a friend to Felicity, and the show’s first openly gay character. The casting news was first reported by EW.

In the comics, Mr. Terrific is Michael Holt, a self-made billionaire and Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete with genius intellect who becomes a superhero after the death of his wife and unborn child, later going on to lead the Justice Society of America.

Kellum will make his “Arrow” debut in episode 402.

Mr. Terrific isn’t the only new face coming to season four of “Arrow” — according to Comic Book Resources, Alexander Calvert will also appear as DC villain Anarky (civilian name Lonnie Machin), described as “a deranged freelancing criminal who is willing to do whatever it takes to impress a potential employer.” As previously reported, Ra’s al Ghul’s nemesis Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), will menace Stephen Amell’s Emerald Archer too.

“Arrow” sister show “The Flash” is also beefing up its cast for season two, adding “Masters of Sex” alum Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick, another iteration of the Flash from Earth-Two, and Shantel VanSanten as police officer Patty Spivot, a potential romantic partner for Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen.

“Arrow” season four premieres at 8 p.m. Oct. 7 on the CW.

Arrow Casts Alexander Calvert As Anarky

Arrow has cast Alexander Calvert as Anarky for the series’ fourth season on The CW, CBR reports. Calvert will be recognized from his recurring roles on Bates Motel, The Returned and The Dead Zone.

The official character description says that Lonnie Machin (AKA Anarky) is a deranged freelancing criminal who is willing to do whatever it takes to impress a potential employer.

Anarky was originally created by Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle for DC Comics, and has been a thorn in the side of the Bat Family, particularly Robin, with his anarchic worldview clashing with Batman’s strict belief in law and order. He also made an appearance in videogame Batman: Arkham Origins.

The news follows after the announcement that Echo Kellum will play Mr. Terrific and Neal McDonough will play villain Damien Darhk in the new season.

Really not inspired by the description of Anarky as a deranged criminal. I have no faith in the show-runners to capture the true essence of the character, who served as an avatar for Alan Grant's developing libertarian worldview in the comics. In the show since Green Arrow is bastardized to the point of helping cops physically subdue protesters (a far cry from his own anarchic origins), I reckon Anarky will be similarly ruined. This is going to make me angrier than it probably should.

God I hope that Diggle costume isn't real.

Re: Arrow Discussion Thread.

Arrow's biggest heel - ME - is back! :cheer

1) Michael Holt being supervised by Superlicity - fuck you. Also, turning him gay (which I'm never against) only to not interfere with Olicity.

2) Ray signing over so that Oliver can have resources is stupid as fuck. Never getting over that and probably will never be explained.

3) Someone fucking kill Superlicity.

4) Oliver turning into lighter Green Arrow because of Felicity - fuck you.

5) Just someone fucking remove Marc Guggenheim.

Also, just read today an ask towards MG for having more Olicity sex scenes + kinks :LOL

6) Once again promised more Laurel but no-selling it cause last season she had nowhere the screen time of the first 2 seasons and she's the leading lady with most interesting storyline.

Fuck this show.

Not having watched much of the show, is my impression that the showrunners are doing to Felicity what Smallville did with Lana Lang?

As pro-Lana and anti-Superlicity I might be biased but...

Felicity's case is worse because unlike Lana who was liked only by the creators, Felicity gets support from Guggenheim and the fans (some of which are the biggest psychos in the world). Also, Lana at least was a canon comic character and important to Superman mythos.

Felicity however has had her role and abilities being blown out of proportion by practically making her the smartest person in the Flarrow verse even though she was an ordinary IT girl in s1 and the STAR Labs team is clearly beyond her capabilities. Like who the fuck can make virtual autopsies out of nowhere or know more about bombs from the Internet than a former soldier?

She also lacks much characterization beyond "being awkward, unbeatable at anything and wants to bone Oliver". No depth shown and s3 has been basically her doing the opposite of what Oliver wants so that there can be some tension.

She constantly gets praised for being amazing and great and superintelligent from the Arrow to The Flash villains. She never gets called on any bad behaviour and has been put as the moral compass of the team even though she was the first willing to leave.

This and many other examples are of course because of her fucking fanbase that wants even more of her (and the creators don't want to damage Saint Felicity by tainting her with any flaws) and make dozens of people close their social profiles by bullying them and the creators just keep giving in to their wants, effectively retconning and ruining the show as well as practically making the whole marketing campaign center on Felicity/Olicity.

Words can not describe what rot has followed Felicity's popularity and the writers' decision to keep pandering to that fanbase for the free marketing instead of writing a show about vigilantism.

Re: Arrow Discussion Thread.

As much as I think the Olicity stuff has been poorly handled, anyone else bothered by the fact that Oliver basically handed over all the resources in the world to Malcom Merlyn and allowed him to be in an even bigger position of power, instead of bringing him to justice like he should've been? I mean this dude killed 503 people at the end of season 1, to think Oliver would just overlook that just to be in good relations with his sister's father is very un-hero like IMO.

And TBH it would've been better to see Nyssa as the new Ra's. It just seems so out of character to me to see Nyssa kneel to Merlyn after the way he killed Sara, regardless if he's the new Ra's or not.

Anyway fuck Marc Guggenheim

BUT HE IS THEA'S FATHER! Yes, Oliver, he was the reason his son died but keep him alive because Thea shares DNA with a mass murderer (Y)

Excluding Oliver forgetting that Sara died somewhere like 5 minutes after it, the show has given zero real justification why Merlyn is not in prison, let alone alive. They've made him a Villain Sue.
