signal or out of nowhere is perfectly fine!,I also don't mind finishers not actually finishing people off and just leads to kick outs.....But only IF a special big-time match like how Taker vs Trips was done!I love the tension/desperation between them and fans not knowing exactly when&who will get pinned!

It seems like most of the time, setting up the finisher fails anyway and they'll hit it out of nowhere later on. Cena usually sets up for the AA immediately after the Five-Knuckle Shuffle but his opponent usually squirms out and he gets the AA win later. And Orton's mat pounding seems to result in a failed RKO more often than not. He hits more "surprise" RKOs than set-up ones. I suppose I prefer it this way as it does add a bit more to the finish though it can get repetitive, especially with Orton. Though I do love when Sweet Chin Music is set up and it hits.

Finishers can work both ways it just depends on the story trying to be told. Sometimes a signaled finisher can work a crowd better than an out of nowhere finisher because the act of signaling it can build up so much anticipation(Tombstone, People's Elbow, Kane's chokeslam, etc.).

Personally I prefer both. It just really depends on the match.
