One of TNA's biggest issues was always a lack of vision when it came to brand awareness and marketing. They missed so many chances to get national spotlight...

There are a few things GFW could do now that would get them national attention...

1; Pat McAfee
Pat McAfee is the former kicker for the Indianapolis Colts. He is currently training to be a pro wrestler. He's training and performing in various indie promotions around Indianapolis and is reported pretty good in the ring. He also has a lot of charisma. He is well known because of his football career and could easily be an ambassador for GFW, especially if they decide to start touring more in Indiana.

2; Shaquille O'Neil
Wrestling fan, huge, well know celebrity with national exposure. If GFW could sign him for some appearances and actually advertise them well, it could really make difference.

3; Jim Carrey
Again, a fan of wrestling who is nationally, and internationally known. He has been a wrestling fan for years, and it's said that the wrestling parts of his role in Man on the Moon were some of his favorite parts of his acting career.

4; Eminem
Huge celecrity with what is said to be a genuine love for pro wrestling. ANd not just WWE. He apparently watches indie and Japanese wrestling as well when he has time.

Pat McAfee?? Really? a "celebrity?" Chris Berman would give you a "C'mon Man!" for that. . . . .

GFW couldn't even afford to bring in Pete Rose at this point.

Well they seem to have some sort of a new deal going with Paulie Malignaggi's apparel company if that counts, so its possible he turns up.

Just don't bring in the Jersey Shore clowns like TNA did a few years ago. Honestly, GFW couldn't afford any celebrity that would actually make a difference.

You serious think Anthem can't afford it? They are worth A LOT more than WWE could ever dream of being with. And they are putting A LOT of support behind GFW. Anthem can easily afford to pay appearance fees and royalties to celebrities. Hell, TNA had TOby Keith on when they were not even with 100k.

Realistically, any names big enough to move the needle are out of GFW's price range.

If they are worth alot more why don't they sign Lesnar and Cena instead of letting WWE have them? Why not sign Omega and Okada from NJPW and Punk from UFC.

Those five would create a bigger boost for the company than any celebrity you care to name.

1) To sign someone they have to want to sign with you. GFW has had issues in the past and in the case of Cena I think he is WWE for life. Also they tend not to be FA's as WWE resigns them before contract is up.

2) Signing a celebrity is a one time fee which would be far less than a yearly contract. Just because Anthem has a lot of money does not mean they are going to go and spend like there is no tomorrow.

As far as the question, unless someone is a fan and wants to show up I would not worry to much about it. Spending money right now on a "name" is not worth it. Unless it is someone that fits the direction they are going AND come at a decent price.

In regards to comments about some celebrities in the past it could be argued that they DID help in the early days as TNA grew from a weekly PPV to getting over 1.5 million viewers on Spike.

and again thats what wcw did and look what happened. They focused on trying to steal as many big names as possible and over pay them.

Anthem is trying to run a company with structure and you need to do things bit by bit. No point in pretending the fan base is better then it is.

Anthem and jeff have a 5 year plan and that is very good news. That means each year they are trying to build to the right things.

Its much better idea to try and build the brand up from the ground and bring in all new talent that is great just like the early TNA days. Of course we will have to cycle through many guys until they find the good ones they want. Right now the roster is in a huge transition stage and a lot of guys will be gone in half a year.

Plus branding is very important and no i dont agree at all with how Jeff is doing this transtion to GFW.But since them being rebranded to GFW was never really explained. It makes sense to slowly change the name from the old to the new.

This will be all re branded fully with new logos and new belts by destination x.

You will see them moving to being on the road by 2018

No one since bringing in a celeb is useful for a short bit of time and the people who came in for *insert celebrity here* are likely just there for said celeb and these kind of things barely make a difference as far as hooking new viewers, so honestly not worth the money.
