Maybe calling these terror attacks is questionable. Perhaps what we are seeing is the European Intifada. Armed with knives and swords these attackers are nevertheless relentless.

Brussels TERROR: Knifeman SHOT DEAD after shouting 'Allahu Akbar' & attacking two soldiers

A KNIFEMAN has been shot dead after trying to attack soldiers on patrol in Brussels, police have confirmed.

The attacker shouted "Allahu Akbar" (Arabic for 'God is Great') twice before attempting to murder to the two soldiers, according to the Belgian federal prosecutors.

He was taken to hospital after being shot but he has since died.

A spokeswoman for the prosecution service said earlier: "With the identity that we currently have it is a 30-year-old man who is not known for terrorist activities.”

The incident is now being treated as an attempted terrorist murder.

Local media are reporting that the attacker was a Belgian of Somali origin but details about his identity have not yet been released authorities.

Images on social media show a police cordon on the pavement on Boulevard Emile Jacqmain and a number of police officers stood nearby.

Brussels mayor Philip Close said the alert status, which is currently just one off the maximum level, had not been increased.

He added: ”Initial indications are ... that it is an isolated attack, a single person.”

The soldiers suffered minor injuries in the attack, with one suffering a head wound while another was struck in the hand.

Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel tweeted: "All our support is with our soldiers. Our security services remain on alert. We are following the situation closely.”

Witness Ryan MacDonald tweeted: “Sound of gunshot, heavy police presence outside on Boulevard Emile Jacqmain, Brussels.”

Just three days ago, jihadis called for vehicles to mow down pedestrians on the Rue Neuve, just metres from where the attacker was shot this evening.

The streets of Brussels are being patrolled by soldiers after the security threat was heightened in the wake of devastating terror attacks in the country and in nearby Paris over the last three years.

In 2016 coordinated ISIS suicide bombers in the Belgian capital killed 35 and injured 340 in the deadliest terror strike the nation had ever seen.

And in June this year troops killed a suspected suicide bomber before he could strike the city's central train station in what authorities treated as a terrorist incident.

Knifeman detained in suspected terrorist attack near Buckingham Palace, 2 officers hurt

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in London on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assault on police on the Mall near Buckingham Palace, the Metropolitan Police reported, adding that the case is now being investigated by their counterterrorism division.

“A man in his mid-twenties has been arrested by police after they spotted a weapon inside his car. The quick and brave actions of both officers meant that the suspect was detained very quickly,” Detective Superintendent Guy Collings said in a statement.

While the officers were trying to arrest him, they suffered minor injuries to their arms and were treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service.

The statement added that no other people were affected by the attack, which took place at 20:35 local time. While the investigation is ongoing, the man is also being held under the 2000 Terrorism Act.

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command are now investigating the incident which occurred near Buckingham Palace on the evening of Friday, 25 August,” read a further statement from the Met Police.

No others persons have been reported injured following the attack.

Queen Elizabeth was not in residence in the palace when the attack outside the palace happened.

The Telegraph is reporting that the palace was “on lockdown” following the attack, while the police have said it is too early to state whether the incident was terror-related.

The incident occurred just hours after a knife-wielding man was shot and killed in Brussels after attacking a group of soldiers while shouting “Allahu akbar.”

Sad news glad it wasn't any worse.

I'm confused why they attacked Soldiers with just knives?

Wouldn't surprising them with an acid attack followed up with a knife be far more effective?

This is what scares me about these guys, they don't think. Now imagine if they did how much more chaos and death they could bring.

I think it's only a matter of time before it happens.

We'll probably see that soon in London, there's been a spate of them recently. Thankfully that wasn't the case here but with how easy it is to buy some of those substances they use these days the attacks are becoming more common. It'll be really bad if the terrorist fucks start using them too...

Yeah, I think you or someone else mentioned gangs are using acid for attacks now since you can buy the stuff cheap.

I'm surprised terrorists haven't picked up on how effective and cheap it is to use acid to disable and maim the victim then follow up with a knife or whatever.

It concerns me that eventually terrorists, even lone wolf types will start using methods such as acid and arson to commit their crimes.

Remember when the building caught fire and all those people died? Imagine if terrorists started renting rooms, stockpiling petrol to make petrol bombs, walk out, detonate and lots of people all burn to death unable to escape.

I just hope they keep being stupid and don't start using unorthodox methods.

I remember an article claiming that while it's "gangs" that are using Acid attacks, the composition and location of those gangs are heavily correlated with South Asian ghettos.

But that could just be misinformation, I'm not sure.

Where I'm from, acid is the primary weapon of choice in domestic violence (All of South Asia).

Second man held after sword attack at Buckingham Palace

Counter-terrorism officers arrest 30-year-old at address in west London

A second man has been arrested over a suspected terrorist attack outside Buckingham Palace, during which police were attacked by a man armed with a sword.

A 30-year-old man was apprehended by officers at an address in west London on Sunday morning, Scotland Yard said. Police are carrying out a search in the area.

During the attack on Friday night, a man was said to have driven at a police van outside the palace and, after he was confronted by unarmed officers, reached for a 1.2-metre (4ft) sword hidden in the passenger-side footwell of his car.

Officers subdued the suspect, a 26-year-old from Luton, Bedfordshire, with CS spray. Three people were injured during the incident.

The second man was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of terrorism and was taken into custody. The arrest was carried out by officers from the Met’s counter-terrorism command.

Scotland Yard said a warrant for the further detention of the attacker had been granted and would expire on Friday 1 September.

The man repeatedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” – God is great, in Arabic – as officers struggled with him, police said. It is understood that part of the investigation centres on whether CCTV footage shows the car used in the attack was “scouting” the area beforehand and whether it was driven at the police van in order to lure officers towards it.

The incident was over within about a minute, according to a witness. “The police were trying to get the man out of the car, shouting. More police were arriving on the scene and the man was fighting back,” said Kiana Williamson.

While the Met is leading the investigation, MI5 is also involved. Police initially believed the 26-year-old man acted alone and said their investigation would look into the first arrested man’s mental health. Some other incidents thought to have been terror attacks have later turned out to have been driven by mental health problems.

Suspected Terrorists Attack Police in Brussels, London

By

Benjamin Hart

Less than two weeks after 15 people were killed in a pair of terrorist attacks in Spain, two separate but seemingly unrelated incidents of suspected terrorism took place minutes apart in European capitals on Friday night.

In central Brussels around 8:20 p.m., a knife-wielding attacker stabbed a police officer in the hand and injured another before police shot him. He later died in hospital. The country’s federal-prosecutors office said the suspect, 30, was shouting “Allahu Akbar” as he stabbed the officer. He was Somali by origin, and became a Belgian citizen in 2015; he had not previously been linked to any terrorist activity.

On Saturday, ISIS claimed responsibility for the stabbing.

At almost the same time in London, a man was arrested outside Buckingham Palace after brandishing a four-foot sword and also repeatedly chanting “Allahu Akbar.” Three police officers sustained minor injuries as they arrested the man, a 26-year-old from the town of Luton. Police said they were treating the incident as suspected terrorism. The man had driven into a restricted area near the palace, and reached for his sword when unarmed officers approached. Police are looking into the suspect’s mental-health history; as The Guardian notes, “at least two incidents initially thought to have been terror-motivated knife attacks — one at Leytonstone tube station in December 2015 and the other in Russell Square in August 2016 — were later determined to be more driven by the attacker’s mental health problems.”

Brussels has long been seen as a hotbed of Islamic extremism. Belgium is the Western country with the highest per-capita flow of fighters to ISIS in Syria. In March 2016, bombers detonated explosives at Brussels Airport and at a Metro station in the city, killing 32 civilians and putting the city on lockdown. The ISIS-linked perpetrators of that attack were linked to the November 2015 attacks in Paris, which killed 130 people. In June, police killed a Moroccan man who was attempting to detonate explosives at the city’s central train station.

The U.K., meanwhile, has seen several high-profile incidents of terrorism this year. In May, Salman Abedi detonated a bomb at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, killing 22. And in London, there have been three incidences of murder-by-vehicle: In March, 52-year-old Khalid Masood drove into pedestrians on Westminister Bridge, killing four before being shot by police. In June, three attackers ran over pedestrians on London Bridge before jumping out and stabbing to death eight people before police shot them. Later that month, 47-year-old Darren Osborne ran over worshippers at a Finsbury Park mosque, killing one, in an apparent attack against Muslims.

This post has been updated to include ISIS’s claim of responsibility.
