I mean, following Jericho's fantastic heel run, it's become a bit of an IWC cliché to label all articulate, methodical heel talkers as 'great mic workers'. My problem with Punk is that, unlike Jericho, his act is unconvincing and he can't seem to suppress his natural cocky, 'I'm better than you' attitude, and it leads to a mixed reaction in a lot of arenas. A good heel should be able to have (at the very least) a consistent ratio of 80%+ fans booing them out of the building. For example, I consider the Miz a far better mic worker than CM Punk as he actually does his job properly.

If you're referring to last night...you do know they were in Chicago right?
Other than that, all I hear are boos when he's out there

He sometimes has a habit of being repetitive.

I get it already, he better than all of us. But to say he's crap on the mic is ridiculous. His mic work is one of the best in this era.

I don't think he's nearly as good as some people say, but he's certainly not 'crap'. He's a good mic worker. He's also quite charismatic, which helps.
Yeah, crap is perhaps an exaggeration on my part, but looking around this forum you'd think Punk was one of the the top mic workers in wrestling history. He isn't even in the top 3 best heel workers on the current raw roster, ffs.

I'm not referring to last night, at all. I'm referring to almost every Raw he's on (that has anything remotely resembling a decent crowd'. He was getting a pretty audible 'CM Punk' chants at the recent Elimination Chamber PPV.

Yeah, he is somewhat overrated. I've never had a strong opinion on him really. I do find him entertaining, and like I said the man's charismatic. He's definitely no Jericho however, which is who a lot of people compare him to.

If you're judging off of last night, then your point is not valid. He was in Chicago, his hometown. Do you know how hard it is to get booed in your hometown. Most of the time, people aren't even booked if they are heels and in the hometown. The last person to get boos in their hometown was Swagger, who beat up JR, the more over hometown favorite.

Keep up, I've already said I'm not basing it on last night.

Don't get me wrong, Punk isn't awful on the mic like John Morrison or Daniel Bryan. He's about as good as Randy Orton. What annoys me is the absolute arse creaming he gets on this forum (most of the internet, actually). A lot of people genuinely believe Punk to be in the same class as the likes of Cena, HBK, Rock or, and this is a comparison I've heard a lot, Jake Roberts. Do you realise how ridiculous those comparisons are to a person who isn't blinded by some false loyalty to a wrestler they watched mature in the indies?

If Punk had been a regular joe called up from FCW I almost certainly wouldn't even feel the need to make a topic like this. People overate CM Punk like no other.

Finally somebody with some since. I wouldn't say he is crap on the mic but he is nowhere near as good as people make him out to be. His voice just seems too bland for me too actually be entertained by what he is saying. He isn't crap but I don't think he is that far above average.
