You need to have respect. Yes, Big Show is the overall better giant, because back in the days, he could do kip ups and what not and he was built like tank. Even he himself has said that when he was in his prime, he was a freak of nature.

Andre the Giant is considered a legend, because back in the Golden Era, wrestling was a mystery to people and Andre the Giant was a real life walking giant, because without social media, people didn't know that a person this big can exist at all. He revolutionized wrestling, because when you have someone that big kayfabe angry and looking to demolish people draws money and attention. Without him Hogan wouldn't have been that big.

Because he was a part of popular culture. Because he's an icon. Because people from all over the world came to see this man. He was an actor, a wrestler and an innovator. You don't know what you're talking about.

It was a different time period, people were excited by him just because of how unusual it was to see a guy his size.
Anyways, 7/10, lazy effort but you got some good responses. Waiting for the inevitable Brock Lock.

in size maybe, in talent he is one of the worst
You're so wrong, dude. Andre actually invented a lot of the moves that you see today. The tombstone piledriver and pedigree were first done by him. I think you have a lot of digging to do to have such a strong (but weak) opinion on the guy.

Probably would have had to be growing up in that era to understand, I thought his feud with Hogan was one of the best feuds of all time!

Sure Andre wasnt great in the ring but he had importance, the man was a beast and was a huge celebrity at the time for being who he was. so when the time came for Hogan to beat him it was a moment that everyone spoke about it.

Wrestling isn't that renowned any more, back then it was given more respect, unlike today where if you mention wrestling its kind of a taboo if you like it.

Andre vs Hogan is without a doubt, if you like it or not, is a historic moment in wrestling because of the press and attention it got, that wrestling today wish it had. Andre was a bigger part of that happening as Hogan.

A. If a troll attempt, this is tremendously pathetic. B. Hollywood covered the star aspect of this well C. Andre in the US was used as a draw that promoters could center big rumbles around so in his prime he coudlnt always showcase his prowess and by the time WM 3 rolled around, Andre was physically very deteriorated and well past his athletic prime. I suggest you watch Andre in the early 80s in Japan, particularly against Stan Hansen. You will see that a younger Andre was an extremely capable and for his size quite athletic/conditioned bigman. Hell, Giant Baba is notorious for his awkwardness in the ring, and Andre got some fine matches out of Baba.

Andre was a great special attraction, who lived and died by how promoters used him. He wouldnt have been half the star if you saw him all the time. He'd have still been a star, but the fact he knew when to come and go was what made him what he was. He was perfect for the territory era. Sort of like the Undertaker now. Undertaker's great in the odd match, but you wouldnt want to see him every week.

As a wrestler he was pretty good for his size, until his back gave out and he put all that weight on. For a guy who couldnt actually get up from a chair for most of the late 80s, he did a great job putting over the likes of Hogan, Savage and Warrior.
