The way he does it looks horrible. It doesn't even look "clutched" like its supposed to look. It sorta reminds of the horrible way John Cena does his STF and how he always leaves that opening under the guys head making it look so loose and fake, never locking his opponents head into an actual choke hold.

Anyway I think it would be ALOT better if his finishing move was the jumping super kick he does. He always makes it look very impressive and it feels alot more new and fresh than the camel clutch.

He honestly looks fucking BORED when he applies the hold, like he just can't be fucked. I've put more effort into learning french that he puts into applying that hold. And I can't speak a fucking work of french.
Thats why he will fail. Hes good in the ring but charisma is missing , he looks bored while doing the camel clutch etc. Also he gets reactions cuz of lana

I think it's to paint him as this brute that can strangle the life out of someone with no emotion or effort.
Never saw it that way.

But the thing is though he is always being billed as this "super-athlete". You would think his finishing move would then be something that makes you go "wow, that was athletically impressive". The camel clutch in no way leaves me thinking that.

But every time I see that jumping super kick though that's what it leaves me thinking.

Yeah I'm still trying to figure out whether they're going for the whole detached, unemotional monster who doesn't give two shits about breaking your back; or whether he's just incapable of moving his face

I love how emotionless he is when he applies it but I gotta agree, it looks fake as hell. I've thought that to myself everytime he's applied it, but maybe it is because of his lack of emotion, maybe that is what doesn't 'sell' it as legitimate. Its got to the point where it looks so effortless that it doesn't hurt the opponent.

I like Rusev though and he is an incredible athlete for his size so i'm willing to let this go to see how it unfolds.

So far it's my opinion that he is emotionless when he applies it on purpose. Seems like such a generic foreign bad guy finisher though, I think he should have a power finisher.

I'm willing to give him a chance. He has a great look and impressive movement for a guy his size. Plus, I would drag my scrote through a mile of broken glass just to have Lana berate me in Russian.

I like that the fact that he looks emotionless. He is like an unstoppable machine controlled by Lana- he doesn't take pleasure in his opponents' pain nor does he feel remorse. He just does what he's supposed to until Lana calls him off.

Not a big fan of the Camel Clutch, but I love his signature moves.

I think part of the blame falls on the commentary..
If they were to emphasize how little effort resev has to put in to hurt someone than I could understand rusev being emotionless

I think the problem is he is using the camel clutch lol..... he's a big dude, why is he not using some sort of cool looking body slam? Same goes with Big E Langston. Guys like the Big Show and Mark Henry get a pass just because they are old, but it really does seem like most of the "power house" guys are just doing strikes mixed in with 2 different types of body slams, most of them time the type of stuff that's not really noteworthy.

He should do something unique- like throwing his opponents into the air and catching them with a powerbomb. Will look absolutely brutal. Wrestlers showcasing their strength should use some unique moves that make the crowd go whoa! This is one of the reasons Cesaro got over- the swing and the Swiss Death, plus the apron deadlift superplex.

I actually like him. The bored look it great. Makes it look like he's so good and powerful that he doesn't even have to try. He's just out there to do the job because Lana says so. He has the skills. I buy what he's selling. I fear he will be dancing with giants and midgets in no time though.
