Yeah, he's definitely gonna either be a producer or working at the PC with Shawn based on his comments:

"I don’t want the fans to see me as anyone other than AJ Styles. That’s the biggest reason. Before my body stops working, I’ve decided to retire. I haven’t figured it out yet (what he’ll do after wrestling), but most likely I’ll be working in WWE. Maybe I’ll help develop young talent into main roster stars. But I don’t know for sure yet.” (Interview w/ Tokyo Sports)

I'm really gonna miss AJ Styles when he eventually retires and hangs up those boots.

So many great moments and memories he has given the fans. Amazing career.

It’s kinda wild he’s able to work to the level he’s at given how long he’s been doing this and his age, but yeah I’d rather him retire before he really starts to slow down and can’t work to the level we’d expect.

I’d imagine we get a match or two in TNA, and hopefully they let him do something in NJPW as a one off in Japan or something (that one is probably more unlikely however).

I just hope that AJ has one more match in TNA before he retires next year. Another world title run would be great too but I am not sure how possible that is now with Rollins and Rhodes likely keeping their belts till WrestleMania at least and who knows after that.

That's fair and respectable. With how long he's been doing it at such a high level and his style of wrestling, there's only so much the body can take. He's already slowed down. He wants to hang it up before his work drops off so he is remembered fondly. It's better than him continuing to keep pushing himself and his work declining as his body deteriorates.

Yeah, Styles and Cena will never wrestle again just like Edge, Daniel Bryan, Steve Austin, Ric Flair and HBK never wrestled again after they "retired". 😹

Sorry but "retirement" matches are just gimmick matches just like a HIAC is a gimmick match. These wrestlers who talk retirement are just working the audience

This is where I’m at, he should do what is best for his body and if he feels like he needs to hang them up now before it gets too bad then I can’t fault him.

But man, his AEW run would’ve been so epic for his fans, even if it was just a couple years before going back to WWE on a Legends contract. Not only against Kenny and Ospreay….but AJ vs Darby, Mox, White, Shelton, Hangman, Swerve, MJF, etc would have ruled. Imagine one last match with Samoa Joe? Sigh:(

If they ruin AJ’s retirement tour like they did Cena’s that would really, really be a shame. AJ has had a great career though, I’ll always be a fan. It just sucks that it’s probably ending on a whimper knowing WWE’s track record with retirements.
