Pretty good episode last night which isn't reflected in this week's ratings. Oh well.

March Madness could be a killer for the rest of the month though. I don't even watch college basketball like that but MM is usually a different story.

You can’t condition the viewer to believe nothing of consequence ever happens, or else shows like last night won’t have eyes to see how great it CAN be.

And this is just another reason why Tony is a fucking idiot for actively working to take guys off the fire when they’re white hot. You eventually will condition your audience to not care, because they know better than to invest their time and emotion.

Feels like .27-.31 or so is their normal range now while they have basketball competition, which they'll basically have until May/June.

March Madness isn't going to effect Dynamite besides last night. The tournament takes place Thursday-Sunday for a couple of weeks until the championship game which is on a Monday. The competition they had last night was essentially for a "play in" game.

He has been pretty conservative & lacking in the last 2-3 weeks barring last night, gotta admit.

The trend continues

Good ep = bad rating
Part of it is the product inconsistency. AEW can have an awesome episode (like last night) but they've lost the ability to string together consistent storylines and builds.

I do think last night's episode quietly reaffirmed that they do listen to hardcore fan criticism about poor builds and disjointed stories. For the first time in a while, I'm hopeful the upward momentum will continue for AEW and that folks will start tuning back in. Look at WWE - they've regained viewers and then some - thanks to their ability to tell a continuous story that people are (wildly) interested in.

The ratings are what they are. You want them go up, then you had better continue delivering storytelling that the audience can relate to, because the audience is conditioned to believing you’re incapable of delivering a product that is must see.

Or worse…you’ve already lost those potential fans, and they’re not willing to give you a second chance.

“Welllllllll, MJF lost 100k viewerrrrrrrs, Briiiiiiiiian. I guess the viewers don’t like Sammy Guevara since he’s so cloooooosely aligned with Jerichoooooo. sigh What did youuuuu think of thissss, Briiiiiannnnn..?”

I can hear it now.

That 100k were hangers on from the big bang.
The quaters are actually somewhat identical as last week, apart from a higher lead in and the dark order lead them to lose 120k viewers 15mins earlier than last week.

And it barely affected viewership. Dynamite's numbers were slightly lower than last week's show.
