AEW must publicly disclose ownership, judge rules

In the case of the cameraman injured when Jon Moxley shoved him down (in an unscripted action when the cameraman wasn’t part of the angle, hadn’t been trained in bumps and had no idea it was coming), AEW had sought to keep its ownership shares and structure filed under seal so it would’t become public. (Reporting from court filings courtesy Fightful.)

Judge inthe case said, ‘That doesn’t work for me, brother.”

If AEW appeals that ruling, it’s a sign that Tony Khan really doesn’t want this to get out. Or somebody (perhaps a hidden partner) doesn't.

Tuesday’s ruling gives AEW seven days to disclose the information.

The case is filed in Michigan court. AEW is trying to get it changed to federal court.

AEW is owned ostensibly by Beatnik Investments LLC, a Shad Khan-controlled trust that from what I understand is set up to benefit Tony Khan and his sister. But that’s majority ownership, not necessarily complete ownership.

Presuming AEW complies, we should find out next week such things as whether WBD owns a share (and how much) as well as whether Dave Meltzer has a tiny ownership interest (that would sink him as a ‘journalist’ and put him fully in shill territory) and perhaps whether any wrestlers own a stake (to include, possibly, Cody and CM Punk, among others). Hey, it’s possible some Saudi royal family-controlled investment group has a cut.

Or maybe it’s just Shad and Tony himself doesn’t have any ownership share.

No matter what the ownership structure, it’s going to be interesting.

Here’s the full story. Stay tuned:

I thought everyone knew his dad owned it? It would be hilarious if Uncle Dave is involved somehow.

Vince smashing that car after driving like a loon the same day as the Hogan news and as this comes out.

Seriously though I think the only ‘drama’ would be it being revealed WBD have a stake and that explaining their faith with the deals, I vaguely remember Tony denying they do (or did at the time) but may be confusing that with the people taking pot shots and pushing conspiracies. Feels feasible though, and would be interesting to see Tony answer that if asked.

I was pondering what else could be dramatic as a silent partner, and I was thinking could it be Saudi/Middle East investment? Just as there were those digs at WWE taking that blood money and then it’s revealed it’s part of AEW’s bankrolling, and that old sportswashing routine. But doubt that’s true as they would have gone there by now.

Bucks won
1/1
Hangman won
2/2
we got some sort of Hurt Syndicate/MJF continued drama.
3/3 (Shelton gave him a thumbs down while Lashley and MVP weren't around out of disgust)
Christian and Edge are hinting at making up
4/4 (Cage admitted he's an asshole and said Cope shouldn't forget he was also an asshole to make it to the top)
Athena got something over Toni,
5/5 (Tag match win, Athena pinned Toni)
MJF attacked, confronted, whatever Briscoe, maybe cost him the match.
6/6 (a post match segment, MJF challenged Briscoe next week on the screen then a sneak attack, Hangman made a save)
I'd also guess we got some other random tag match for the tournament
6/7 (we get that today on Collision, so close lol)
Bore Horsemen showed up during the match Hangman/Moxley match because the ref was having a nap or some shit
7/8 (ref bump ofc, they didn't stay too long then Darby took them all out)

All in all, not bad :ROFLMAO:

To be fair, I'm guessing reasonably vague, and I'm sure there were other things I missed. It is baffling that this is basically the same show as it would have been before All In though.
