While there are no plans for Thunder Rosa to wrestle Dr. Britt Baker, DMD this year for the AEW Women’s Title, the promotion is still planning for it to happen.

Last month it was reported that All Elite Wrestling wanted to save the match for next year. It was not said if this will be on pay-per-view or on a special episode of Dynamite.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the match is still planned for early 2022 “with everything from a cage match to a hair match having been discussed, but the idea is to build it to be the biggest women’s match in company history.”

Rosa and Baker last wrestled each other in a bloody unsanctioned main event match on an episode of Dynamite earlier this year.

Baker successfully retained her AEW Women’s Title over Kris Statlander at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago, Illinois at Now Arena. At this same show, Ruby Soho made her promotional debut by winning the Casino Battle Royale.

As a result, Soho has earned a title match against Baker, but it’s still unclear when that match will happen.

This is kind of why they need to establish a Wrestlemania PPV.

Give a PPV where the biggest feuds can’t built too. WWE have the Starrcade copyright, don’t they?

A hair match would be terrible. Both these women are attractive and need to keep their hair.

Honestly they can’t top the unsanctioned match, it was too perfect with violence, drama, etc.

The only stipulation that would have some meaning is a loser leaves town match, which could happen if Brit wants to take time off

As long as Thunder Rosa wins I don't care about the stipulations - Britt has an excellent gimmick but her in ring work is miles behind Thunder Rosa who is the most complete female wrestler on the roster imo.
