Why is there a pages long argument about the rating? Our opinions are meaningless, AEW themselves obviously want it to get a T rating and that's all that matters. Their shows are TV-14 aka the TV equivalent of a T rated video game. Do any of you wishing for an M rated game like Dynamite any less because it's TV-14 and not TV-MA?

Did anyone think the golden age of wrestling games in the 90s and early 2000s were any lesser because they were rated T? No. An M rating doesn't make a game inherently any better or worse. It is a sales and marketing issue though. If AEW want the game to have a lower age rating they don't just want it for nothing. There's an obvious financial benefit their data shows that they want.

Comparing the debut game of a 3 year old wrestling company to video game giants like CoD and GTA is hilariously stupid if I may say. The only way to really interact with those franchises is through the games. They're video game franchises first and foremost. AEW is a tv wrestling franchise, most AEW fans consume AEW through TV. You can't watch a GTA show. You need your GTA fix you gotta play the game.

Getting a game that contains violence rated is a pain in the ass, because lots of countries have different rating systems and different views of what is reasonable or not.
A big issue with this is marketing and selling M rated games in general, because you will definitely feel a hit in sales because people under 18 won´t be able to buy the game without asking their parents.
It would be smarter to have it T rated because Video Games could also gain eyeballs to the product, but from an entertainment standpoint I think it would be cool if there is lots of blood.

Bingo. Your average 17 year old smarky AEW fan won't be able to go to a store and buy a copy without mom or dad. You can counter argue everyone buys games digitally now so who cares, but you need every last sale you can get.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just hold off until September time now. The WWE games have moved to March releases, so they'll probably look to jump in right between 2K23 and 2K24.

Certainly won't be before June at the absolute earliest, I'd have thought.

I would assume they want the T rating because of wider reach with a better likelihood of being included in packaged deals and buying top-of-page/store display options. The game is meant to have a throwback vibe - which kinda goes against the marketing to kids, but let's ignore that - so I can see compromise happening on some of the more realistic bloody aspects. There are ways to do it that fit the art style.

The US has some interesting rules about what can trigger the M rating. While I doubt it's the inclusion of bloody matches involving female wrestling, that honestly wouldn't surprise me. It would piss me off, but, yeah, it wouldn't surprise me.

What I don't quite get is, who is this game intended for? AEW fans? Well, ok, that makes sense. But who else? Do people generally pick up random wrestling games, or do WWE-only fans/non-fans automatically choose the WWE offering since that's the name they recognize and anything else is prejudged to be a cheap knockoff? That's assuming a non-wrestling fan will want to buy or even trial a wrestling game in the first place... It's this question that makes me think the T rating is needed in order to be included in deals where gamers unfamiliar with AEW will still be exposed to Fight Forever. A game tied to an existing entertainment product that isn't the biggest name in its genre is a different beast to sell than something churned out from a massive entertainment franchise or a game that stands on its own merits as a self-contained entity.

Which is crazy considering what Chun-Li and Cammy have been wearing for decades in teen games
If I had to guess I'd say it's cause of the moves and what not

I.e a women wearing a skirt getting kicked/punch on a 2 d environment you can control what is seen.

A fully 3d model being hit by hundreds of grabs and other moves with a moving camera?
