The next time AEW comes to town, I am definitely not showing up early or staying late to watch ROH tapings.
Sorry I'm a Roh mark since 03.When I initially read "Paul Turner" I was thinking "who?", After doing a quick google search I found out he is a ref. Good to know.
Yeah that does seem like a burial. The ref's in AEW look like total dud's unfortunately.
Sabu is just there for nostalgia. He has no kayfabe connection to Cole though which I thought was weird.Watching the Jericho/Cole segment now and wondering:
1. WTF is Sabu randomly appearing?
2. Why is Cole claiming he couldn't eat due to the attack on Britt Baker? Is that supposed to be a change from the norm for the little guy?
3. It's hilarious they are still trying to sell the Britt Baker attack as devastating.
4. Cole can't come off as intimidating.

Lol at the bolded part.
They have Jeff Jarrett. For all his faults in TNA, he was good at doing go home shows before a PPV. TK would be wise at taking his advices but I don't know how much involved he is behind the sceneTony just does not understand how to do a Go Home Show. There is no fucking need for all of these pointless, unnecessary characters getting TV in stories that are going nowhere. This is your last chance to focus your audience’s attention on the upcoming PPV that you are asking $50 to watch.
sigh
I wish he’d hire TV people for this TV show.
So the big story that some on here were going on and on about, that they were saying was going to be the big event in this feud when Callis made the Elite turn on each other … turned out to be a laugh-it-off subplot on a YouTube show? LOL.Jeff was already in the Bullet Club briefly during the AJ leadership era.

They did that on BTE. Turned out, in a swerve, Kenny knew all along and wasn't bothered by it because it showed true friendship between the Bucks and Hangman. The Dark Order were threatening to cause dissension between the reformed Elite, but decided against it because they wanted Hangman to be happy.
This actually would have made some sense and tied into the storyline...I fucking love sabu but he was the most random appearance EVERShould have brought out Sandman instead fo sabu, he could have beat the shit out of JAS with his kendo stick.
Bang on. I literally feel exactly the same way as you across the board. I couldn't have written it better myself.*I only started the show halfway into Orange vs. Fletcher but from what I saw it was pretty good. Fletcher seems cut from the Ospreay build though obviously not as good yet. And while I get people being sick of Orange in this role, he usually delivers in this role, like he did here.
*OK I hate saying this, but God Juice Robinson sucks. Hearing him screech every line of dialogue is just so annoying. And not in a "oh he's a heel" way. More in a "channel changer" way. And his stuff in the ring lately hasn't been enough to make up for it. I hate him working with Ricky as it's done nothing for Ricky. He is anchor to Jay. This feud overall just sucks, and we're not even getting a payoff on the PPV between Ricky & Jay. Whether it's next week on Dynamite or even on the 1st Collision, please just end this feud as soon as possible.
*Another thing I haven't really enjoyed is FTR/Briscoe/Team J&J stuff. I mean, I've enjoyed the comedic moments like when Team J&J went to Mark's house. But so far everyone in this story has just been made to look dumber. Like Mark, I know you're friends with Lethal, but it's obvious they're using you. I know you're mad Dax hit you with a Piledriver, but it's obvious he didn't know it was you. This story has tried to balance comedy with drama and to me it's a lot better when it focuses on comedy.
*The House of Black Rules seem kind of silly when they have so many rules, there's not much left for the Dealers to pick. I also don't love the light show that happens during their matches, though I liked how they did the last match better. But, I do like they are putting effort into making HOB feel unique and special. And this was a solid, dominant win for them. I assume they're facing the Acclaimed & Gunn at the PPV, or somewhere after.
*The Pillars segment was nothing special but it was at least smart in letting MJF do most of the talking and having Darby be the 1 other guy to talk back to him.
*I was happy to see Lady Frost get a chance on a bigger stage and she looked solid. The match was more designed to make Taya look good, as it should have been, and the crowd didn't care much for the match as a whole. But overall I was happy for Frost.
*The actual Contract Signing part of the segment with Cole & Jericho was done well I thought. Nothing amazing or over the top, but Cole got his anger for Jericho across very well. And Jericho did a good job of being a dick by showing the replay of Britt getting beat up.
But I laughed so hard at the reveal of Sabu as Cole's back up. As if the JAS went "oh no, a guy who's almost 60's who has a hard time getting around! Let's all stay in one spot and let him throw a chair at us!" Like, it's one thing when they do this with Sting, because it's Sting. But Sabu? I mean I know TK is an ECW mark but eh.
*Garcia vs. Strong sounds like a strong match on paper but the crowd didn't really care for most of it. And honestly I was kind of there with them.
*The main event delivered from an in rings standpoint as you would expect it to. The stuff after the match was a bit awkward. Like the Bucks come out and cost them the match. They escape into the crowd.....and then they meander around and just stand in the crowd while Mox cuts his promo in the ring, most of the time not even looking at them. And Omega & Hangman are nowhere to be seen for the closing shot. I might have missed an explanation as to why they weren't there, but regardless them not being there did take away from this.
So overall I would say this is a show bookended by 2 pretty good match and most everything else in between could probably be skipped.
Can't believe how bad they screwed this up. This should've been such a bigger/better story if they just did the idol/mentor angle where Jericho turns out to be an old evil prick to Cole. These are two big stars and it should have been so much better.Watching the Jericho/Cole segment now and wondering:
Yup, makes no sense at all. How is this angle not a massive part of the go home show? The lack of followup on the Elite reunion was astounding. Paid off years of waiting and all they did was a 45 second backstage promo with Hangman.
TK is the reason and only reason why.Yup, makes no sense at all. How is this angle not a massive part of the go home show?
