1) Russian Billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov buys TNA Wrestling.
Prokhorov Press Release: "All former and current booking/ creative and management to have been associated with TNA Wrestling have been released from their duties and will no longer be working for TNA in any capacity, effective immediately. Further, any booking / creative / managerial parties who are or have ever been associated with TNA, WCW, ECW, or the WWF/E programming in any capacity will not be welcome to employment here. We will be starting with a clean slate, without the bias and political subterfuge which has riddled and undermined the success of this and various other companies in this industry throughout history."
Prokhorov Press Release Part II: "To ensure a revitalized and properly restructured TNA, we will be ending all storylines and breaking continuity, stripping all champions of their titles, and running a three month tournament for each belt. We will be working closely with our performers to create a safe and equitably fair working environment without political strife in our locker rooms during this time. During these tournaments our new management and writing team will be developed and once the tournaments are settled, we will then move back into the traditional flavor that one has come to expect from professional wrestling, with a return to the roots of this company, one of total non-stop action."
2) New TNA owner Mikhail Prokhorov establishes a new drug and alcohol substance testing policy for all employees, enforced and performed by the National Center for Drug Free Sport; several performers fail testing and are suspended without pay for 90 days and must pass their post suspension testings and future subsequent testings or be released from the company permanently, as per the policy. This effectively ends the careers of various members of the TNA locker room.
3) Spike TV, TNA Wrestling and ZUFFA, Inc., owners of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, have agreed to a long term agreement where Zuffa will aid TNA in the establishing of new venues to have live events at around the world at, and each party will aid in the training of future prospects who choose to leave MMA to go into pro wrestling, and vice versa.
