2nd Commentator?

In the span of about 2-3 weeks, SD has now lost 2 commentators. Booker T is now the GM, and on Raw, Cole said that Josh Matthews will be back "sometime next week".

Meaning that as of now, Cole will be the only commentator scheduled for SD this week. Unless WWE has someone in mind to bring in as the other commentator. Maybe JBL thing is true, or maybe they have someone else in mind?

Doubt it'd be King, since peoples last memories of King would be from what happened on Raw, so don't think they'd want to have King on TV again until next Raw.

I hope it's Matt Striker. He's the best commentator in WWE.
probably Striker
If JBL is true that'd be beyond amazing!
I sure do miss Booker on commentary, those two just put me to sleep. Booker kept everything feeling exciting and important...even if it wasn't at all, and that's exactly what a commentator should do.
It should be JBL permanently with Striker also having a fair amount of time on SD.
I'm thinking either Striker or Regal, with an outside chance of being JBL. I'd be excited to watch Smackdown this Friday if it turned out to be JBL. :D
I'd love for it to be JBL, but he said that he hasn't been contacted about it. Wouldn't mind Striker or Regal at all, especially if whoever it is ends up staying on commentary.
JBL and Regal would be great.

Bumping down Lawler would be great (or him going away all in all).

As for Striker and the (unnecessarily) hated Stanford, yeah, they would be great too.

WWE, all in all, needs 3 commentators per show AND for PPV.
JBL and Regal would be great.

JBL and Regal come to Smackdown, beat the shit out of Michael Cole and take over the commentary. That would be awesome!

Hey it's your buddy it's your pal Scott Stanford...

Seriously though, Stanford calling a match SOUNDS like a real announcer speaking (duh, he is a commentator for a living, I get that). If he knew more about his wrestling, he'd be a great voice behind the table. Striker has impressive knowledge of wrestling, but comes off as amateur-ish.

I still consider BOTH of them improvements over Lawler, mind you. It's just too bad we couldn't have a hybrid of Striker's knowledge and Stanford's delivery.

This. I never understood why people dislike Stanford, because he sounds, legitimately, BETTER than any other current announcer.
The "doesn't know enough about wrestling" comment was something that I never really understood.

When I watch Superstars, he seems fine regarding that aspect.

Stanford's improved a lot in regard to "knowledge" of the product. He's also the guy who sounds legitimately excited during matches, which by itself puts him above most of the commentators.

My guess is that Stanford calls the entirety of Superstars. Striker gets Smackdown (and Superstars, most likely).
Booker could step in for the week while still playing his GM role, though I'd prefer Regal or Striker.
I'd go with Striker here. Really wish that they had 2 separate commentators for each show: Cole and Lawler for RAW and Striker and one of Foley or JBL for Smackdown.
I could actually see Regal, if they follow up the nice little short angles with this great gentleman.
I mean, he made the best touts so far about becoming GM (and yes, I do want to see GMs putting screwdrivers in their nose :lmao ), he had backstage segments about how deep you can fall, the "a job is a job" thing last week, it would be great if they put him on commentary for a week and then kicking him out again, could be a nice side angle about how he get's pissed and tries to trick himself on tv again.

Hopefully by teaming up with Punk and beating the crap out of Lawler, preferably with some classy brass knucks :gun:
Wrong show? Yes. Wishful thinking? Unfortunately yes :(
I also hope for Matt Striker or JBL.Striker was much better than Booker T as announcer.
It will probably be Matt Striker which means that barring something epic happening (Barrett return, Sandow promo) I will not be watching the show.
I'd mark if it was JBL. I'd take Striker over Regal any day.
They should go back to diff commentators per show.

King(Heel),Striker(Face) and Regal(heel and face) for SD
Matthews(Face),Cole(Heel) and JBL(heel and face) for Raw
I'd love for it to be Striker or Stanford, but I can see them just throwing Booker back in there as a temporary measure. Which would be fine, but not particularly interesting. I don't want to see Regal in the job as I find him really dull and I'd be surprised if Cole & Regal had chemistry together.

I don't get the Stanford hate based on his "lack of knowledge" either. He actually knows the names of people's finishing moves (like Otunga's Verdict and Cesaro's Neutralizer) which is more than most commentators on the main shows. Hell, he's even been to wrestling school and seems to actually care about the business. I'd be thrilled if he finally got a shot on one of the main shows after working on Superstars and the recap shows for years now.
