Cena and Bryan marks are both lucky this is keyfabe! If it was real Punk should've been number 1 after holding the belt for 434 days and having 3 MOTY contenders already.
But, this is a 2013 list. Punk held the title for less than 30 days in 2013. (My mistake, just seen the post stating the rankings go from August to August).

And if it was based on match quality, I can only imagine that NJPW would probably fill up the top 10.

And why should Cena and Bryan marks be lucky this is kayfabe? Even if it wasn't, what do "marks" get from this? Bragging rights?

PWI is biased towards WWE and TNA...

PWI is biased towards WWE and TNA...
And you know that how?

Because no non WCW, WWE or TNA guy has ever made number 1? And that automatically implies bias?

If they were biased towards WWE and TNA, Tanahashi, Okada and Steen wouldn't even be in the top 10.

Seriously, would PWI bias see them placing Tanahashi at THREE???

Bro, don't be a blind mark. They had to place an actual wrestler in the top 3 because if they didn't, people would call them out on their shit. So that's why they put Tanahashi trying to be somewhat credible and they failed hard...This list is pretty, pretty biased towards the popular wrestling companies because there are many Japanese wrestlers much better than Punk, Cena, Ziggler, Bully, etc. The thing is that not many people watch them so PWI prefers putting known names up in there.

Cena finally wins #1 for the 3rd time. AJ Styles, Punk and Miz ain't holding him back.

Wait, in kayfabe, didn't Jeff Hardy have a better year than Cena? I mean, he won most of his matches and did hold the TNA Title longer and win more matches during that timespan.

Honestly, PWI sucks at their Puro knowledge too. They just put some Japanese names in the top 10 to make it seem a "credible" list. Atleast they picked the right 2 guys in Tanahashi and Okada this year. Last year, they had picked Hiroyoshi Tenzan :lmao

I earlier said Okada should be number 1. On second thought, I think Tanahashi should have been the top spot. Held the IWGP Heavyweight belt for most of the time, had 2 matches rated 5 stars by Meltzer against Minoru Suzuki and Kazuchika Okada, reached the finals of the recent G1 Climax etc.

Bear in mind guys, the period of judgement for the list is August to August, so next year Daniel Bryan will be top five.

My top 5 from last August to this August would be:

1. Hiroshi Tanahashi
2. CM Punk
3. Kazuchika Okada
4. John Cena
5. Bully Ray

What is there to call out? It's an opinion and at the end of the day, doesn't mean jack shit.

And I have a HUGE problem with the bold. When are you going to realize that the list isn't based on wrestling ability at all?

Gotdamn, EVERY dirtsheet, magazine, etc. does these year end rankings/awards. It's freelance and doesn't mean shit. Nothing more than people publicizing an opinion. And the dumbest thing ever is someone wanting to "call out" people over an opinion.

I'm not about to sit here and try & justify this list. But at the same time, I can't help but entertain the butthurt that this list has and will cause.

Not to mention, you say the list is biased, on the grounds that many Japanese wrestlers are better than various American wrestlers, including CM Punk. But before that, you said if the list was real, Punk would be number 1. So, what is the REAL problem with the list: no Japanese wrestlers at the top or that Punk wasn't number 1?

I said Punk should be number one because I'm following this list's current which is to put WWE wrestlers for no apparent reason in the first spot... A realistic list should be something like this:

1. - Okada
2. - Tanahashi

(big fucking gap)

3. CM Punk

How the fuck is that list anywhere near realistic? Punk the third best wrestler in the world? Realistically, he'd be lucky to make top 5.

A realistic list, based on actual wrestling and not the WWE style, no WWE guy would even make top 10. The only guy with a possible chance would be Daniel Bryan and that's because he's had more opportunity to have actual WRESTLING matches than CM Punk, who's spent the majority of the past 12 months working with Cena, a 500 pound Big Show, a green as baby shit and sloppy Rock and an easily gassed Dwayne Johnson.
