I think the the other guy is right when he says that an injured champ should keep the belt. Better for storyline, better for characters.

It also shows that when the interviewer isn't some clueless idiot, asking inane questions and trying to get him to arm-wrestle a kid, Punk's actually a decent, down to earth guy.

I can honestly listen to Punk all day. One of the very rare wrestlers who keeps it real when doing these kinds of interviews.

Punk has been saying shit the more sensible posters on here have been saying for months but it had to take Punk to say. Huzzah.

Anyone that likes this should search up Wrestling with Rosenberg on youtube, theres a good few of these with the likes of jericho, rey, etc, the jesse ventura one is great too for an old school perspective, Rosenberg is clearly a huge fan.

 

I think it's time Rosenberg gets his respect due. He can be counted on for giving a great wrestling interview every time. Check out his Youtube channel for more of them if you haven't already.

 

Omg I just :lol so hard at the part where the chris brown fan tells Punk he should pick on someone his own size.... Its so sad that the guy wasn't smart enough to see the problem with what he said.

Chris Brown may possibly have the dumbest fans in the world.

 

Awesome interview. I could have listened to him go on forever there. A lot of the stuff he's saying is so spot on as well, it's great. I loved the comments about everybody being too afraid to rock the boat. It's the exact same thing JR said not too long ago too. All these guys in the back, they're not fighting for this like you used to have to do. Punk did. He rocked the boat and then some and look what happened. He carved out a spot for himself when one wasn't there before. I think too many of these guys are perfectly happy to sit there and wait for superstardom to be handed to them instead of doing everything they can to make it happen themselves. There's no passion or guts anymore and it's sorely reflected in the product.

His comments on the internet are pretty spot on too. I'll hold my hand up and say that I'm guilty of some of the stuff he's getting at but at the same time, it's not like it's unwarranted. When he says shut up, enjoy it and let things play out, that's great. But WWE's track record for letting things play out is fucking horrible. It would be different if they were following through with things like the Nexus bigger picture or the It Begins promos or the walkout angle and all the other things they've dropped the ball with but they aren't. People are so negative because it's practically become expected of them to fuck everything up now. They tease something and nothing ever comes from it. I think a lot of it has to do with sheer frustration over the last few years at just hot badly they've handled A LOT of things. Not just some but A LOT. They never follow through which is why a lot of folks sour on things quickly imo, including myself. With regards to Jericho/Punk itself, so far they haven't done anything to make me want to see this match but I've said it many times, we still have another 5 weeks to go. That's more than enough time for them to turn this thing from chicken shit to chicken salad to quote the man himself.

So yeah, great interview. I really enjoyed that one.

I remember this rumor. Back then (I think in 07) people thought it was just dirtsheet BS but that was the freaking truth. Vince was really dissatisfied with the cowboy hat and jeans.

Good to know that certain rumors finally get confirmed (Hence why I like the interviews).

Great interview there. Punk is the man. This Rosenberg fella' was really good too, he asked a lot of questions I haven't heard asked before by all these other guys who interview Punk and he got some great answers out of Punk. I love that Punk and Cena have so much respect for eachother, you can really see it when they are in the ring together.

Great Interview, I'm suprised more people haven't brought up the fact CM Punk states his promo on that famous night was actually genuine and not kayfabe. I remember around the time, the general consensus was that it was a "worked shoot", Interesting.

 

It was worked, approved by vince but he used his words i think.

Wow. So Punk was the first one to outsell cena in terms of merchandise sales in seven years. Quite the accomplishment.

 

Didnt jeff hardy do that in 2008? I think there were reports he outsold Cena.

Punk outsold cena only in T-shirts, cena is still no.1 if you include other accessories Plus his Rise above hate shirt close behind punk at No.2 top sellers.
