I used to live in the UK in 1997 and though I didn't have weekly access to WWF programming I don't recall the yellow-rope bar room fight Shotgun Saturday night ever being shown on TV in the UK. But I do remember Shotgun Challenge (with some awesome music which I can't find on Youtube anywhere) being shown in the UK - definitely on Wrestlemania 13 weekend, and a month later when LOD broke Henry Godwinn's neck (on TV it was not acknolwedged at the time of the incident).

Were Shotgun Challenge and Shotgun Saturday Night completely different content that existed simultaneously? Or did one morph into the other? I'm guessing they were entirely different content but reading Wikipedia I don't see enough evidence they were ever actually distinct shows, and am even more confused.

I remember Shotgun Challenge. Biggest match I saw on it was The Sultan vs. The Undertaker

I remember Shotgun Saturday Night as well as WWF NY (the show not the restaurant)

WWF NY was hosted by Vince Russo and someone else. I have some taped.

After looking through the chronology more, I'm led to believe that Shotgun Saturday Night in the USA was the same as Shotgun Challenge in the UK but with different commentators. And the UK channels didn't carry it in the first 2 months when they were held in bars.

If you haven't seen it, watch the January and February 1997 episodes. They even had one show at a New York subway station!
