XFL lands TV partnership with ABC, FOX, ESPN, FS1

Quote:
The multiyear deal calls for 24 of the XFL's 43 games to be on broadcast TV (13 on ABC; 11 on Fox), including two Thursday primetime games on Fox in April '20.
Quote:
Execs said they took away several lessons from the failed AAF that they believe will help the XFL succeed. “The league to partner with is the league that has financing,” Silverman said. “The XFL has a business plan. It is in it for the long haul. We did our diligence. We made sure this entity is in it for the long run. The business plan is in order. We know the key leadership from our WWE deal.”

Knowing Vince's will to not fail my guess is he runs this until he absolutely can't, if it doesn't succeed

The TV Partnership sounds promising though

There is a market for a spring football league that serves as a developmental entity for the NFL. Keys are:

1) Renewed emphasis on interpersonal rivalries (i.e. DLineman A hates QB B because of some issue from the NFL or college)
2) Emphasis in establishing individual personalities, the more unique the better
3) Bringing in controvesial people who are not in the NFL, but have strong name value: Colin Kapernick, Johnny Manziel, Tim Tebow (if he weren’t playing baseball)
4) Emphasis in celebration - in this league it’s not discouraged - it’s rewarded
5) Less commercial breaks

Do these and it works.

I'll be shocked if this lasts more than one season.

Have the wrestlers play. I'd watch every game.

I'll give the first few games a novelty watch. The best thing league can probably hope for is to become like the Arena football league.... Which has folded multiple times. But best of luck to it

That's why former Edmonton Eskimo Roman Reigns has been pushed all these years. It was all leading up to this moment where he will be the face of the XFL

I'm pretty sure the NFL is the right wing NFL.
