Why do people think the Fiend would even make a good champion?

His gimmick is so weird and cartoonish. As a viewer why would we believe he actually wants to be champion?

I don't get why everyone is so up in arms that he didn't win the title. He was protected in the match, so it's not like anyone was given a clean victory over him.

If you're a fan of his and if you want him to win the title - then you should be happy he didn't win. Build up to the moment, give fans a reason to believe that he cares and is legitimately wanting to be champ when he goes for the title. Build up to a better moment.

Also - i don't understand why everyone is so upset for the overbooking. Have you seen his gimmick? He's really, really weird. Booking weird matches/finishes suits his character. What did you expect him to do, come out and wrestle a legitimate 5 star technical wrestling match with Rollins, and go over clean? That's now how gimmicks like his work.

Undertaker never did so early in his career, and neither should Bray. Remember when Taker had that match with Yokozuna in the casket and his "soul" went up in the sky? Or the Taker vs Taker match? Or the Giant Gonzalez match with chloroforme? Welcome to professional wrestling.

I legitimately don't understand all the outrage.

i'm not trolling and saying "bray sucks". I think he's a great character (not my cup of tea though) and very talented. If you want him as champion, there should be a good story/build to it, and we should be given reason to think his character cares about it first.

He should be the champion because he's the best, that's the whole reason.

And if their stupid asses don't want him as champion, fine. But don't book him as the guy who FAILED to win the title and ruin his character.

Re: Why do people think the Fiend would even make a good champion?

Nope

with this shitty Vince logic

The audience overwhelmingly wants bray as champion. They overwhelmingly wanted him to win last night

You make him your champion if he fails afterward is irrelevant. You strike when the iron is hot

This shitty Vince logic is why we've had Roman, Seth and Bork death gripping one of the top titles for the last 3 years burying one guy after another and themselves in the process

But vince WILL give kofi or the trasharaja lengthy title runs taking a chance on them but he wont give his hottest act the title

There has been an AEWakening... have you felt it?

The mark wars have begun again

DAMN THAT TRACK IS HOT

THAT'S GOTTA BE KANE (IS BACK) (AGAIN)

Re: Why do people think the Fiend would even make a good champion?

Cause he’s one of the only guys on the roster who has mic skills/charisma and plays larger than life character who connects with the audience? Better question is why wouldn’t you want him as champion?

On top of that, Seth Rollins is a charisma vacuum who completely sucks, who literally the entire arena wanted to lose.

Patiently waiting for the Attitude Era to return

He won't make a good champion. Marks just can't fathom any guy Vince pushes to the moon.

Because he's over as fuck and people love him.... One of if not THE most over person on the roster. IT would be like saying 'Why do people think the Steve Austin would even make a good champion'

How exactly is his character ruined? Because the ref stopped a match? Even Stone Cold, The Rock and Hulk Hogan lost matches at times....

Yeah but if they hadn't made Kofi champion, everyone would similarly have been up in arms the next day "omg, he's the one we love, how can you not make him champ!". Hypocrisy at its finest.

Coming back to Bray - clearly there's likely to be more to come. It was one match. We often see 2-3 matches in a feud till someone becomes champion. He isn't going from fighting for the title to feuding with Jinder Mahal in the dark match next week or anything...

if the fans do want him as champion overwhelmingly so, creating a little drama/better story going into him becoming champ isn't a bad thing.

Re: Why do people think the Fiend would even make a good champion?

Without getting into a long discussion, simply because a champion with charisma is always better than a bitch with zero charisma, or zero anything for that matter.

All Time
Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Undertaker, Mankind, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, Batista, Cm Punk, The Rock, Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero

Current
Everyone is buried.

I wouldn't have complained if kofi hadn't gotten his run

I thought he deserved a chance but it wasnt some real cereal thing for me

Bray deserves a chance far more

Re: Why do people think the Fiend would even make a good champion?

I kind of think even if he did win, Vince doesn't even know what to do with him if he does become champ. Look at how Kofi's run was, there's like a majority of people that was on the Kofimania train and then months after people just turned their backs on him. Becky had that kind of support too but people are cooling off on her.

Just imagine if Vince gave The Fiend the same kind of booking he gave, people here will simply turn their backs on him in an instant.

...Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master.
