Re: So is Bray Wyatt finished?

They made a bad booking decision, but I can't go along with this "The Fiend is done!" mentality based on this one event. He didn't lose the match. He didn't look weak. They used the match to continue the idea that he's unique, in that they used special lighting and allowed him to no-sell Kendo/Chair shots and Rollin's finisher.

They know they fucked up, that's why the match and the feud were totally not referenced in front of the live crowd on RAW. They didn't want to have to put up with the BOOs and they knew that "AEW" chants would be very prominent.

They will move on, going back to what has gotten Bray over - There will be some new Firefly Funhouse segments next week, still targeting Seth. He'll carry on appearing during Seth matches and attacking him, and then they'll re-do the UV Title match at Survivor Series ... hopefully with a better outcome.

As I've said elsewhere, I don't care about the UV Title getting put on The Fiend. I don't think he needs it, and frankly storyline-wise, I don't even see why he'd WANT it. He just needs to be booked as a sick freak that destroys everyone and feels no pain.

Not when he dressed like a transgender? Or when he shown worms and maggots in the ring? Or when he lost 99% of his big matches?

"He's Totally Finished!"

... everyone keeps saying about the guy that s literally the most over wrestler in the business today.

It's the same minority of people that shit on everything, that are out saying that The Fiend is done with right now. But actually, 99% of the anger and disappointment at the HIAC finish is directed at creative and Vince.

People are still totally behind Bray - as they should be, as the gimmick is excellent and he hasn't put a single foot wrong in his portrayal of it.

The very fact that people are back on this "Bray Is Done With" bullshit train is actually proof that NO ONE is EVER completely finished, no matter what the treatment - because according to these people, Bray was 100% finished and would never have another run, never be over, never be liked by anyone, ever again, 18 months ago. And look where he is today.

People really need to calm the fuck down with the stupid over reactions. I can guarantee that the next time Bray turns up in an arena on TV, the pop will be just as big as it was before HIAC, if not bigger, because the perception now that creative fucked him over is just working to make him even more of a babyface in the fans eyes.

Bray Wyatt never started my guy.

Vince has always seen him as mid to upper card. Look at his win loss record. It’s a flop.

He’s fat and doesn’t look like the Rock or Hogan or Cena.

People talking about how over he is. Remember when WWWYKI was popping. WWE went out of their way to bury him.

Samoa Joe is a jobber and he’s still over. I think Bray Wyatt falls into this category tbh.

He was well protected in that and was made to look superhuman. It's Rollins you guys should be worrying about.

He should have won the match.
But he comes off as ridiculous when he shrugs off 20 curb stomps and a sledgehammer to the head. That's just dumb.

It just feels like way more analysis than is necessary.

No one used to count how many finishers The Undertaker took before kicking out. No one was complaining like this when Kane no-sold stuff. Yeah, people didn't spam finishers as much back then, but it's commonplace now. You have people kicking out of multiple finishers in most PPV matches.

The whole idea in this match was getting The Fiend over as some supernatural being that feels no pain. It's the character they're building. I can see how people that prefer the realistic wrestling style would see this as stupid ... but personally, I am all for crazy, OTT characters in wrestling.

If you don't like The Fiend / Firefly Funhouse gimmick, then you won't like his matches. Naturally. I'm all for it though.

Re: So is Bray Wyatt finished?

Devils advocate here; the fans' impatience didn't help at all. Bray could have had another 3 or 4 feuds so they could test the water with the character to see if he has legs and if he does, have him win the Rumble as an unannounced #30. I honestly could picture The Fiend standing over Rollins with the title in the Wrestlemania main event in darkness. Instead, people we're begging and demanding he gets hotshotted to the main event after a single 2-minute match. WWE then booked themselves into a massive corner (where was Money in the Bank when you needed it?). It's chicken and the egg of course with fans & WWE, but please can both just slow down sometimes.

Spoiler for GOAT Meeting:

Re: So is Bray Wyatt finished?

If you thought Bray Wyatt, whose gimmick portraits a guy with a multi-personality disorder, his alter ego being a psychopath with murder ideation would be considered to be "face of the company" material, I'm sorry but you were born yesterday.

WWE is a corporation that is pro-feminism, LGBT, and yes stands for supporting kids fighting cancer and does thousands of "make a wishes" would never allow a Fiend to succeed.

The best you gonna get is him messing up with the good guys and then getting squashed. Over and over again.

On a positive note, he is 2-0 since he came back 8(lol).
