I'm not interested in Bray Wyatt being a Jake Roberts type "legend", I'm interested in him being an Undertaker, a Savage, a Flair, a guy who mattered.
He's probably going to be a Mick Foley type of legend. I'm pretty sure this is how Vince sees him. Fat guy who can talk with cool/weird gimmicks. He is going to have his moments but never will be the top guy. Bu not exactly midcard either.

No, but the Curb Stomp sure as fuck is finished as a credible finisher.

Re: So is Bray Wyatt finished?

The Fiend has been hurt character-wise critically, idk how he'll get any momentum back after this. Just another cult leader Bray 2.0 where he's all talk, but can't get the job done when it truly matters; it also shows that WWE isn't fully behind him despite the fans being so.

First of all, taking 20 curb stomps and kicking out at 1 was just stupid plain and simple. So, how is anyone in the future supposed to ever pin this guy? What do they have to do, drop an atomic bomb on him? Even Super Cena, Roman, or Strowman werent that bad.

Second, watching him lay on his ass for 10 minutes getting beat up and almost stretchered out of the arena was fucked up, it should have been the other way around.

Third, fuck WWE. What they did to Bray at HIAC was the last straw for me, I already cancelled the Network and have no intention of watching moving forward. I heard tonight's Raw was the worst of all time, glad I didn't tune in. I don't have FOX, so idc about Smackdown.
I'll still watch NXT since they haven't managed to fuck that up yet, but that's all this company will get from me until I see reports that it's safe to watch again.
AEW has my full attention now.

In today's business, the type of legend those guys you mentioned is extinct. In the days of stars only appearing on TV once or twice a month mostly in exhibition matches are long gone. It is about being at the very top of the company as champions. Those guys, because of the tway things were at the time, could be put at the top of the card on House Shows across the country and buildings would be almost (or in many cases just) as full as if Hogan were on it because they were special attractions (or in Tito's case before he became a jobber to the stars in the late 80's, a champion) and not overexposed.

Re: So is Bray Wyatt finished?

They were never going to put the belt on wyatt.

He won't be on the front of muscle and fitness, they can't have the fiend on any of the chatshows, and that is what matters for the champion these days.

This was coming as soon as they put him in a program for the belt that vince will never let him hold.

Hell in a cell against anyone else on the roster is what wyatt should have got. His first real big match, where he could simply destroy his opponent. A feud with rollins can only end badly for him. The only shock is that 'creative' managed to make it end badly for rollins, hell in a cell and the entire company as well.

You know what, I'm not even a fan of Bray Wyatt at all and have never really rated him. But this is ridiculous. Wyatt's been the hottest thing in WWE for a good minute and they still fucked it up. He needs to leave and try somewhere else.

Re: So is Bray Wyatt finished?

Bray did well for himself to get over this Fiend character, but as I always say he also did the same with Bray Wyatt character and Vince did nothing with him either.

But the Fiend character in the body of John Cena, Randy Orton or Roman Reigns and he would have won the title on Sunday. I really do think Vince doesn't like Bray cause he doesn't fit into the "look". Even though he's looking the best he's ever looked.

I don't think he's finished, just think the Fiend character has a certain ceiling within WWE while Vince is still around. I think that match on Sunday will have took a bit of the gloss away from some fans for the character imo.

Re: So is Bray Wyatt finished?

His mystique is completely gone. Even if Bray wins the belt sometime in the future, even if they had him win last night, they killed the mystique of his character at HIAC. They already humanized him having the ref stop the fight because Seth was beating him up too much, then you had them bring the stretcher to take this "demon" to the hospital. Bray's never been my favorite but I know when a talented wrestler is being wasted.

They could have went so many different ways with the ending to that match and they picked a weak choice.

At the same time. It’s not like he really was humanized. Any normal human would have been knocked out. Pinned. Needing medical attention. But even after hit with a sledgehammer he gets up off the stretcher and mandibles Seth.

Honestly he’s creepiest until he’s actually in a wrestling match. They should just keep doing little glimpses of him and random mandible claws till they figure out the best way to use him in an actual match.
