re: Vince apparently ripped up SmackDown's script again
What's funniest and most ironic is that the show opened with a recap of Roman talking about the attacks against him and he says: "I don't know what's going on. It's affecting my life. I'm gonna get some answers..", and that's pretty much exactly how the majority of fans feel about RAW and SmackDown every week.
As far as ripping up scripts goes, I really don't know what to believe. Sometimes Meltzer is a reliable source and then other times he's just a melt. The same goes for Alvarez. Allegedly, Vince missed both RAW and SmackDown last week because he's busy with XFL 2020 shit so I can't 100% believe this stuff about him tearing up scripts.
At the end of the day the man has to choose. Do you want to have a role within WWE behind the scenes so your opinions, ideas and influence is projecting in the final draft of a show? or do you want to continue with this NFL fantasy that, as history shows, will be a catastrophic failure?
The issue seems to be that WWE, since become a publicly traded company, has seen the McMahon family become the kayfabe owners rather than the real ones. Vince owns 42% of his own company. Ever heard the phrase too many cooks spoil the broth? Things felt a lot easier when it was an authentic hierarchy that was probably true behind the scenes and what was on our TV screens.
ONE RAW GM with World, IC, Tag and Women's Champs (in that order)
ONE SmackDown GM with WWE, US, Tag and Cruiserweight Champs (in that order)
ONE PPV per month
And above all else, the head honcho, the kingpin, cream of the crop, the genetic jackhammer himself, is Vince McMahon, the Chairman of the whole company and when his music hits you know something big is going to go down or some poor sod is getting a P45. The dude needs to decide whether he wants to be Vincent Kennedy McMahon (damnit) or Roger Goodell.
