Pulling on the Trigger on Kofi to Soon?... Strike while iron is hot or wait?
I was thinking about this today about Kofi. I think putting him in the match wit Bryan at wrestlemania was great. The crowd was so damn behind him and the crowd continues to support him. I think the story of a perennial mid-carder finally getting a shot is great, and if Vince wasn't around, this is a $$$$$$$$$$ storyline if you're a wrestling fan.
But... should he have won?
This comes down to the idea of ...
a) Striking while the iron is hot. He's never going to be this over again so lets go with it. I think the WWE should do this MORE often btw.
b) Letting it simmer, build heat, and save it for an even BIGGER pop moment.
I'm thinking...what if he lost to Bryan. And then he won the RUMBLE the following year. Wouldn't that be a better story to tell? The "kofi spot"...leads to an actual WIN for once. Which allows him to challnege for the WWE title againand then finally winning.
Or was it all fine....and him as champ now is fine and they should just tell better stories with him as champ.
the brand split sucks
