Sheamus' WWE career is in jeopardy

Yeah, this doesn't sound like encouraging news to me.

Quote:
Sheamus has spinal stenosis, a condition that ended Edge and other WWE Superstars careers and is an issue "Stone Cold" Steve Austin deals with to this day. On top of that, the former WWE Champion suffered a reported concussion during a six-man tag-team match on the 4/9 episode of WWE SmackDown Live.

Quote:
With WWE breaking up The Bar by moving Cesaro to the RAW brand, and due to the fact that the company has not disclosed the specific nature of the injury, there has been growing concern that Sheamus, who just turned 41 years old in January, could be forced into retirement.

Sheamus has been working through this seemingly for the last couple years now. It's a testament to him that he's still worked as physical of a style as he has.

If his time is winding down, I hope he can at least have a run before he has to hang it up to say goodbye, so to speak.
SMW, Ace, Donnie and 7 others like this.

Would not be surprised. Many athletes have retired with this condition. NBA player TJ Ford comes to mind. Hit the wrong way and your body goes numb. Ford couldn't feel his body one time after getting bumped. Still, Sheamus had a nice career. Was once one of the most hated guys within the IWC, then became better liked in the last few years.

I hope they give him one last proper send-off. Face Sheamus with his old theme song vs heel Cesaro.

I was never a big Sheamus fan at first. Hated his singles run felt very rushed and forced. But The Bar is one of my fav tag teams ever with one of the coolest entrances ever. Shame if he is forced to retire.

This has been known for a while, still a shame, guy had quite the run during his time with WWE. If this is it I wish him all the best.

Not a fan of his. He is arguably the biggest overachiever in the history of wrestling. That still sucks if he is forced to retire due to injury though.

Agreed, either him or Del Rio.

Sheamus had a decent career though and deserves a short retirement program or speech. I was disappointed Christian never got one but it's obvious WWE values Sheamus a lot more so I expect it to happen.

Having Cesaro as a tag partner is starting to be a kiss of death for neck injuries...

Hope he's ok and able to continue his career anyway. I follow his workout channel on youtube and he seems like a cool guy.

I have really enjoyed him with Cesaro...probably over anything else he's done in his career. That team deserved a proper send off or last hoorah. I found them stale but I was so used to seeing them together, it's a bit sad.
