KOFI: well respected veteran in and outside of the ring. Was depushed almost a decade ago and when he got the unexpected opportunity early in the year, the fans remembered and supported him.
WWE also gets a chance in this PC/PG era to right some of the wrongs of their past with how they presented and booked black wrestlers and they are seizing it. Kofi will more than likely hold the belt until Summerslam so they are not accused of crapping over a black performer again.
Granted, when. becoming champ, he should have slowly distanced himself from New Day, but what I mentioned above is why he was chosen.
NAKAMURA: overrated!!!... but also a victim of bad booking. Pushed into a feud with the horrible Jinder Mahal where he racked up multiple losses after going over both Cena and Orton clean on TV. After the Rumble win, he did not do good in his feud with AJ and was not even on anyone's radar as US Champ.
RUSEV: ball was dropped on him a couple of times. He should have been pushed to the World Title when his undefeated streak was in tact and could have stayed strong, but they did not do that. He also should have been chosen at the time Jinder was champion, but that did not happen. But, he will more than likely not get a push to the top because either he or Lana always do or say something stupid that gets them backstage heat.
