Kofi - The Best Babyface since Bret 92?

Kofi Kingston - has he truly ever been heel? Maybe at the beginning of The New Day they were a heel faction, but it was more E and Woods doing the talking.

Kofi just seems like the natural babyface, and I can’t for the life of me think of many times the WWE have flipped him back and forth from good guy to bad like they have with other endearing baby faces like AJ, Eddie and Daniel Bryan.

John Cena, Rey Mysterio and Roman Reigns are faces that haven’t swapped to being heel but all received ‘heat’ as if they were the baddest of wrestlers on the roster.

CM Punk, Ric Flair, Chris Jericho, Edge were revered for their heel work and cheered accordingly for it.

Steve Austin, Mankind and The Rock were ‘edgy’ good guys (essentially assholes with so much charisma that you simply had to love them).

Is Kofi truly the best good guy this century? His merch sales would be excellent, his reactions are now thunderous...it’s incredible where this has all come from, literally out of nowhere!

Bret 92’...began with a Tag Team aswell, had singles successes and won the title after 8 years with the company. His team also was heel, but it was more Anvil that drew the heat and Vince always thought Bret was that natural babyface.

I think we’re in special territory with Kofi, we’re seeing something quite special in the age of social media, he’s got mostly everyone supporting him. Hope this run is a memorable one.

Let Kofi go on a year long superman run and see how fast the fans turn on him.

There's been several better babyfaces than Kofi since 1992.

Austin, Batista, Rock, Foley, HBK, Bryan...probably a few more.

I like Kofi but no.

If he keeps doing shit like he did on the Raw after Mania where he just stepped to Seth's whole kingdom and said "I want it that's mine" then yeah. Industry needs more babyfaces like this

That's a bit too far imo. BUT, he is still an extremely likeable and sympathetic babyface nonetheless. And yes, as much as I criticize Vince and WWE for many things, I will give then props for actually pulling the trigger on Kofi winning the WWE title. You did good here WWE.
