Re: Kofi Kingston Doesn’t See a New Day Breakup on the Horizon
In the past, Bret Hart wore pink as part of his ring attire and gave away free sunglasses to certain children. Conversely, The New Day feature pink sometimes in their ring attire and give away free pancakes to the fans. Yet, they're the ones who receive criticism from certain fans and have to deal with speculative talk of why The New Day should disband or why Langston will turn heel and turn on Kingston. Furthermore, D-Generation X (Michaels and Hunter) were like privileged fraternity boys who were literally a joke. And certain fans ate that baloney up. Double standard? Indeed.
What The New Day do, their behavior is tame by comparison. Although it's harmless, I dislike it whenever they gyrate and twerk because it's inappropriate for children who are their fans too. However, it was funny that one time when Bayley tried to gyrate in the same manner that they do. How is she not their fourth member?
In my opinion, Woods and Langston need Kingston more than he needs them. That is to say, Kingston was popular with fans in singles competition. On the other hand, we've yet to see Woods soar in popularity by himself, and Langston's singles run was a failure since his Intercontinental title reign was unmemorable. Moreover, Woods tends to be somebody's partner from story-line to story-line as opposed to having a legitimate singles run. This was the case in TNA and now the WWE. In other words, he's a serious question mark. And his look doesn't write a convincing gimmick for him like Langston. Also, like Balor, Woods and Langston are short. However, let's not nitpick about things that are out of their control. Regardless, The New Day could be a rare instance of a clique that doesn't disband. Maybe they don't compete for the Tag Team titles for years. That is, Kingston, Woods, Langston and Cesaro are examples of wrestlers that don't have anything left to prove in the tag team division. Perhaps, The New Day will someday be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a trio. In my opinion, they wouldn't have it any other way.
