I don't know. WWE seems to like their shtick and giving them a microphone which they will be able to do more if they are champions for an extended period of time. You could be right though. I didn't get the impression that Paige is bringing in the team that beat them.
Man, I did. I thought it was crystal clear that's what they were doing. Paige started the promo mocking The IIconics win, calling it "impressive" sarcastically, then says she's bringing in her own "impressive" team. I thought that was a clear message that she's bringing in their challengers at the next PPV, and obviously whoever it is can't lose to The IIconics because that makes a fool out of Paige, which isn't what they want to do, and it kills whoever the team that loses to The IIconics is out of the gate.
I don't think Vince really likes The IIconics much at all. If he does, he only likes them in the way that he likes their ability to be so completely annoying that the fans want to see babyfaces completely trample them, which will likely be the case here. They've never been given any sort of push before WrestleMania, they're the bottom of the barrel of the womens pecking order.
Or who knows, maybe Paige could be bringing in a heel team, but a real heel team, not a joke heel team like The IIconics and they just bulldoze The IIconics quickly and WWE gets away with the heel/heel match because it's a different type of heel act and The IIconics are just thought of as disposable. Maybe she'll bring in Rhea Ripley and another heel to just decimate them. I lean more towards a babyface team, though, because Paige hasn't shown a hint of being a heel since she retired.
