They've kinda killed The Stomp

It was bad enough they had The Fiend no sell it like 80 times, but the fact that they even had Rowan, fucking Rowan take it on a table and not be put away by it is what really put the nail in the coffin for it.

I can kinda let it go The Fiend can't be stopped by it cause they're building him up as an unstoppable supernatural force, but now Rowan can't be put away by it? A stomp on a table can't put him away so Rollins has to use a forklift to hold him down? That was going way too far to protect Rowan imo. I guess The Stomp can only put away jobbers now.

Yeah, they did.

And look, you can argue that only Bray has been able to no sell the move like that, and that makes sense. But when you see one guy, even if it just one guy, no sell that move over and over again, the image of is just ruined.

The Stomp used to be a move where unless you were facing Brock, all it took was 1 to win a match. And even with Brock, 3 usually did the trick. The Fiend no sold 3 of them. So now if I see him win a match with it, I'll just chuckle a little because I can't get the image of the Fiend no selling 10 of them out of my head.

Seth shoulda simply given a 'ra ra speech' to the fiend. Would have definitely put him away.

Finishers are like that in general nowadays. Finishers nowadays are more like the special moves you see in a fighting game, where you can bet on it to have more impact than the usual move but you can't rely on it to win you the match unless you spam it several times in a row.

It's what happens when you have a fat guy who wears a Halloween mask everyday kick out of it 10 times per match. It's not rocket science.

It is a pitfall of WWE's idea of "protecting" a wrestler by making them kick out of a billion finishers. That type of booking really doesn't helps anyone.

Re: They've kinda killed The Stomp

Yeah ‘The Stomp’ is the talking point at the moment but finishers in general have been diluted beyond belief and it’s not just a WWE problem, it’s wrestling in general. WWE highlight it more as they have the same guys wrestle so often (despite having tons of bodies) and everyone having the same identikit match builds and lack of signature moves.

*A fat guy who wears a Halloween mask everyday who's much more over than Seth Rollins and made him his bitch and took his Universal title.

Let's get the terminology right.

Remember the old days in wrestling when a wrestler applied his Finisher ... it meant ... Finished.

Re: They've kinda killed The Stomp

Because Vincent hates Colby Lopez for some reason despite the fact he’s the best on the entire roster. Don’t let the title runs cloud your vision, Lopez is one of the worst booked guys on the entire show. The image of him screaming as Windham Rotunda crawled towards him will always make me shake my head in disappointment.
