Vince decides it is time to bury Cedric

The mastermind finally saw what we've all been preaching. Guess that is why he has been AJ's bitch the past few weeks.

Just a few weeks ago, it looks as though Cedric Alexander could be the next big thing on Monday Night Raw, and there reports were that executive director Paul Heyman was a very big fan of his.

Now though, it looks like his brief time in the spotlight is over, because Vince McMahon has suddenly decided that he wants to bury Cedric for reasons only someone like Vince could understand.

Speaking on the most recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said:

“I was told last night that Vince McMahon wanted to bury him.”

This certainly seems to be the case, because his shot at the United States Championship at Clash of Champions was relegated to the pre-show, and he then lost in a few minutes in a glorified squash match.

Last night on Raw, he was pinned once again by Styles, and then beaten up post-match without any kind of comeback.

It would be terrifying but interesting to get inside the mind of Vince McMahon when he makes decisions like this. It’s probably got something to do with Cedric not being very tall, which is of course his own fault, but the suddenness of the decision is pretty alarming and worrying for any other smaller stars.

“It probably has something to do with Cedric not being very tall”

Or it could be because Cedric is dull as shit with the charisma & look of a generic create a wrestler with zero mic skills.

They pushed Balor & Flipochet and they have the same height and build as Cedric.

That’s a cop out on Meltzer’s part, just admit Cedric is boring.

Patiently waiting for the Attitude Era to return

Doesn't this sort of go against his other story where Vince wasn't there and Heyman ran the show solo??

I don't think this happened last night. Look at what happened at COC with the pre-show nonsense. No reason the US title should have been on the pre-show.

It seems especially weird to have any championship match on a pre-show of an event called Clash of Champions

Talk about a burial of epic proportions!!!! Last week, he beats (arguably) the best wrestler in the world twice on the same night (once by DQ) in Madison Square Garden and shares a beer with Stone Cold Steve Austin afterwards only to follow that up with being squashed on the pre-show in your hometown and then beat again in convincing fashion and made to look like a complete idiot in the melee afterwards.

Re: Vince decides it is time to bury Cedric

I'm not convinced by this article. I can see them still pushing him, and he'll probably be defeating heels I like clean. Could see him still defeating Ec3, Jinder, Elias all clean. They seem to really be trying to get him over, despite how uncharismatic he is.

You are 66% safe here!

Only Elias ever appears on TV out of the three

Re: Vince decides it is time to bury Cedric

I'd much rather Cedric be fed to AJ to make him look stronger than instead of having them go 50/50 like they always do. I hope this isn't the end of Cedric's push as he does have something to offer. Maybe some smaller feuds to build him back up wouldn't hurt.

Re: Vince decides it is time to bury Cedric

I doubt Cedric could ever be remotely "big" no matter how much they pushed him or booked him as a clean winner against. It didn't even work with Lashley..a guy as imposing as that, so it wouldn't with someone like Cedric.

The reason isn't the height, but nothing about him seems unique or endearing, he doesn't evoke anything, no charisma, unlike someone like Chad Gable. Push Gable to the MOON, Vince. Gable for WWE champion!
