Sasha Banks needed to drop a pipe bomb

I understand what WWE is trying to do. Trust me I get it. It's the same formula that they have used for years. When a superstar returns and makes a big impact, they keep them quiet and don't have them say much just so they can goad you into coming back and watching the following week. In their eyes, it keeps you interested in the storyline and makes for a cheap ratings grab. They did it with Ambrose's heel turn, they did it with Batista in his recent return, and they did it when Daniel Bryan turned heel. I think they might have done it with AJ Styles too during his first heel turn if I remember correctly. They were quiet at first, then spilled the beans. Same shit.

After watching Sasha's segments this morning though, I have to say that I was extremely disappointed. Again, they didn't strike when the iron was the hottest. They had Becky cut another GOAT tier promo and all I wanted was for Sasha Banks to follow that up with a scathing rebuttal, but WWE flaked like they always do. Why not do something NEW for once? Does it ALWAYS have to be the same formula for every big heel return? She should have immediately followed up the attack last week with a reality-based pipe bomb type promo that went over why she left, the women's evolution, the 4 horsewomen, NXT backstory, how she was treated, blonde favoritism, her never happening match with Trish, and how she really feels. That's what everyone wanted to see. Becky even brought new material to the table with her "making Sasha great again" promo. There's so much promo material there that they can literally talk about something new in every segment they have together for the next 3 months. There's no excuse. You can't make the argument that they'd be running through storyline material too fast. After dropping the ball last night, I am not going to care as much next week as I did this week.

This is not the way I wanted the feud to start. This is the only feud in WWE that even matters ATM. Everything else is trash besides the Roman attack storyline. There are only like 3 weeks before now and the PPV, and like always, WWE is not building the story right away. Who knows, they may not build a story at all. Maybe they just say fuck it and go the Batista/HHH route and have Sasha Banks spit all over the microphone about getting what she wants. Like I said, I see what WWE is doing, but it doesn't change the fact that they failed once again at capitalizing on the initial excitement.

Typical WWE.

Maybe they want us to wait just a little bit more though honestly they could have done better this week alone but apparently they don't see it that way and that's sad.

Not a fan of Sasha, but I agree with the argument.

They do it every fucking time, it's annoying. They turn somebody, then next week they don't follow up on it at all. They either don't explain it for weeks (i.e. Ambrose in 2018), or go with some of the lamest shit possible (i.e. Rollins in 2014). I've gotta also say that they really like this "I don't own you an explanation" shtick.

Honestly, things like these turned me off wrestling, in a sense that I don't take it as seriously anymore. That's why I don't even expect some deep character development, why would anybody really, if Vince doesn't care about it? All these hot moments, big turns etc, they only exist to bait you to watch the next show. They don't work on the characters, shamefully. So to Sasha fans - I wouldn't expect some cool explanation if that's what you want. I've been there. I too liked when Ambrose kept it quite for weeks, but then I understood that there's nothing coming out of it. So don't set yourselves up for dissapointment, because you'll all be ranting through this forum how they ruined Sasha's turn in about 3 weeks. Just save it and don't bother.

It's all WWE of course, I at least hope AEW can take their wrestlers seriously.

Is Sasha capable of dropping a pipe bomb?

Becky's promo work this last month or so has surpassed her GOAT run last Sep-Nov. She's killing it. I've never thought of Sasha as someone who is particularly strong on the mic.

This. Also it didn't even have to be a pipe bomb, just explain madly or passionate about what her motivation was here on out that's all it takes this " oh i'll explain the coming weeks" shit is way to repetitive now for the last 4 years

She may not have the mic skills of a Becky or a CM Punk lol, but the storyline material and her bitch attitude is all that's needed right now.

I understand why they do it, but EVERY time? It's clearly just a bait and switch as you said. Ambrose never gave us a real explanation on why he turned on Rollins, so I wouldn't be surprised if Sasha doesn't. They're gonna go the lazy route of having Sasha just say she "wants the title" and leave it at that. And that would truly be pathetic because this has the potential to be one of the greatest women's feuds of all time. These are the same people that fucked up Becky vs Rousey so I guess it wouldn't be a surprise if they fucked this up too.

Yeah, and it wasn't like that in the old days, at all. Stories used to be cool and interesting, I remember some great feuds that delivered every week. Just go all the way, make your product exciting, don't stretch this shit out. It's not that hard.

can't wait for that.

A kinda-similiar thing was with Owens and Shane, some people here said that they will fuck it up and there won't be anything exciting about it. But I think it actually turned out pretty good, this feud is fine, and KO is winning PPV matches at least. So they are capable of doing at least decent things. It's just most of the time they don't strike while it's hot, and it really pisses you off.

Re: Sasha Banks needed to drop a pipe bomb last night.

Interesting idea for sure, but wrong wrestler to pull it off. Sasha imho is incapable of delivering a solo promo. That's why several promos she's done is with someone else, "group" effort if you will. Even then, she was mostly the quiet one. She makes up for it with her in ring skills. But her recent years antics have worn thin, so this is her last shot. Go out with a bang.

It feels like they are trying to cool the feud off with Natalya's addition to it.
