Elias being wasted is a symptom of this horrible age where mainstream wrestling caters to workrate marks on the internet

In a better more succesful age in wrestling, a guy whose character is as over as Elias would be given a simple move-set with 5 moves of doom and would be booked to go out there, say his catchphrases and go over in a simple match in the main event.

Now, he's wasted doing the exact ssame segment every week, being jobbed out to legends and never being in a proper feud, despite being objectively more over than most other full-time talent on the roster.

He should be at least IC champ by now.

I think you are wrong to blame this one on the fans.

This F up goes to Vince/creative.

They had a star who was over, and just wen on cruise control. Elias has never had a story the entire time he was up on the main roster.

He is a casualty of getting himself over.

He's in the "Sandow" spot.

They done the same with Sandow. Same shit over and over again with his first gimmick (Intellectual saviour) and was used in the segments that had legends attack him. Who could forget Raw 1000 when Sandow interrupted DX and got a finisher from each of them?

I'm still trying to figure out why I'm supposed to hate him.

As is, he's a goof that says sarcastic things, sings, and then gets beat up.

This instant comeuppance for the heel doesn't allow to build any heat.

For as silly as the character was, HTM hit people with guitars, threatened Miss Elizabeth, and managed to become the longest reigning IC champ ever purely through getting himself DQ'd and Counted Out. That heat got him a big match with Savage on The Main Event, the most watched wrestling program in US history, led to the creation of The Mega Powers, and helped to make Ultimate Warrior into a main event star. There were reasons to hate his guts beyond just being a jerk that plays the guitar.

Yes don't blame Vince for booking someone badly. Blame the fans.

What a terrible time to be a wrestling fan...! People actually have to be good wrestlers to be in a prominent role. I'm sure the ultimate warrior is rolling in his grave..

Elias was on his way to be a star as a face. If he is being buried because his style of wrestling isn't holding up that is terrible.

Vince trying to cater to workrate fans is seriously ruining my enjoyment because the people they decide to push are never the characters I'm invested in.

Elias along with Roode, Jinder, Strowman, and Ec3 are some of my favorite current midcarders but instead I'm told to pay attention to guys I don't give a fuck about like Zayn, Balor, Mustafah Ali...

Re: Elias being wasted is a symptom of this horrible age where mainstream wrestling caters to workrate marks on the internet

Elias should have been a IC title holder by now. Now he is just a punching bag to the stars. I would have said 'jobber to the stars' except that would involve WWE to even think of putting him in a match first.

I will admit Elias isnt a great wrestlers, but he's fine in small matches, and put him with someone good and maybe it cane work. WWE knows this guy has charisma for days, always get a reaction, perfect comedic timing, great facial expressions.

I know as an hoenst fan I never expect Elias to be top tier. but I expect something! Elias can be a solid mid card guy
