Anyone who goes to that clown show company at this point…..I don’t know man. Clearly NOTHING else in life matters to you other than money.
Let's say Drew as six full-time years left.

What's the most important thing for most performers - whether they are wrestlers, actors, or professional athletes? It's compensation.

Does Drew give WWE a discount (so to speak) and accept a contract that's $xM per year for five years, when Tony might offer $x + 1M per year for the same amount plus offer additional perks that have the effect of adding more money? This is his last full-time deal in all likelihood, so what's more important? The money that he can make? Or the memories that he gives fans?

Let's say hypothetically:

  • WWE Current Deal: Three years, $1.1M/year. No share of house show revenue. No share of PPV revenue. Hotel and car rental expenses on Drew. Share of merchandise.
  • WWE Offer: Five years, $1.5M/year. No share of house show revenue. No share of PPV revenue. Hotel and car rental expenses on Drew. Increased share of merchandise. 60% of contact is fully guaranteed in the event of a release (with exception of ethics violation)
  • AEW Offer: Five years $2.8M/year. No share of house show revenue. No share of PPV revenue. Hotel and car rental expenses paid by AEW. Share of merchandise. 100% of contract is fully guaranteed in the event of a release (with exception of ethics violation)
If you're Drew, what do you take?
I'm going to impact.

Ain't no way you paying Okada 4.5 million a year and asking me to take half.

And with that billion dollar Netflix deal, you best be coming up with bigger numbers WWE

Think that he's being given creative freedom to be the heel he wants to be. He stays.

In the past. he was locked around stuff clearly that vince wanted. The Sword was Vince's. They really played up the "scottish" part of him. Instead of just letting himself be a character.

I'm assuming that he also likely negotiated time with his kids etc. Dunno how long the cycle is. But he's likely going nowhere

It would suck if we don't get the Punk vs Mcyntyre Match after months of buildup and hype.
Drew has been on fire lately.
But there's also high chance he is leaving , that's why they made him lost the title to Priest at Mania WWE clearly don't trust him with long term booking.
Ultimately money and family matters the most so if he works less hectic schedule and making more $$$ so I can understand if he doesn't re-sign

Think that was more about getting the briefcase off of Priest.

Gets to cash in at wrestlemania... and it gives them time to hype Money in the Bank without also having this albatross hanging over their head
