What did everyone think of the heel turn?
I'm not a huge fan of this guy but I was
pleasantly surprised by him turning. Seems already he's a better heel than Jungle Boy lol

Is he going to be doing the flippy stuff as a heel? I hope not , if he can be mostly a matt wrestler I think he can get over better as a heel!

One of the most shocking, and yet, logical heel turns I’ve seen in a while. Looked like a natural, and a future top star.

Darby regretted having a falling out with Nick’s dad, which was the reason he forgave AR Fox. The Fox stuff makes sense now. Darby becomes even more interesting too, because the turn happened due to Darby’s flawed approach to relationships in the past.

Cool little touch how Nick’s extended hug with Darby before the match foreshadowed it.

Nick Wayne fills Jungle Boy’s spot with a top heel in the company (and would be great teaming with Luchasaurus). If Christian holds the title for over a year, he’d also be in a great spot to eventualpy win it in a major moment.

Would like to know why Nick vs Luchasaurus happened though, and how pre-planned this was, so they still have to fill in all the logic gap to tick all the boxes.

It looked like they tried to add shock value similar to how the Bloodline did it. Issue is Nick Wayne is not that developed as a wrestler to give you that shock value. So to me it was wasted. Than right after Nick Wayne does the heel turn, Adam Copeland shows up to turn on Christian. So it was like what was the point of all that? Lol Not to mention how Nick Wayne's mother does better acting than her son. His facials were so dull.

Putting him with Christian will be great for his pro wrestling education. He has good natural ability and instincts, and these are important years for his development.

I just think AEW massively overdo face/heel turns now. It's the exact opposite of their first couple of years when a face/heel turn was special. Too many turns feel contrived and unrealistic, while losing their novelty. I can't help but feel someone new is influencing TK in the last year or two (Jericho's new contract included him as a creative advisor, and Jeff Jarrett loves excesses), because they ramped up the number of swerves/turns.

They should really set a limit on how many turns they have each year. Nick has only been in AEW for three months and eight matches, and has now turned heel. In that time, AR Fox turned heel on him and Darby then turned face again.

A positive. Gives him a chance to be a chicken shit heel hiding behind Luchasaurus. As others said, he has Christian as a manager/father type mentor. Also, he can also do more in ring matt work and grow a personality much more as a heel. He's skinny but young, he will eventually bulk i imagine in a few years.

My thoughts are this guy needs to go away for 2-3 years, learn to wrestle, cut a promo, and not have the physique of a 13 year old, and maybe try again when he’s ready to be in the big leagues.

I didn't see that coming and the best thing he has done so far. What an opportunity for the kid on last on a ppv and part of edges debut. Everyone thought Dominik was garbage when he started but now he gets some of the biggest reactions in wrestling so you never know I get impression Christian is going to try and do a similar thing with him. And his mom has got it going on so more of that please ! Christian is easily the best heel in aew and it's not even close.

It was MJF until he became a cheese fest. Actually swerve is good too but not in Christians league.
I was a supporter of MJF trying a face role. The true greats can usually pull both off. Seems like he is proving his flexibility.

I don't like it it's cheesy as fuck and the comedy makes him look weak imo. He is a natural heel but a corny forced baby face.
Yeah, I’d prefer a more serious face role. Probably upcoming if Cole is indeed hurt or if it’s a Cole heel turn angle.

As long as he’s still face in East West Express then I’m good with it. It swerved me and puts him under a great mentor, also setting a feud with an IRL friend who will have his interests at heart and will work to get him over.
