There was a time when muslims were portrayed as terrorists on WWE tv but now the religion is never integrated into a gimmick. That Mustapha guy is another example but to a lesser extent. Sami is probably one of the hottest wrestlers in WWE right now and he got over just playing a regular Joe, no typecast muslim. He doesn't hide who he is either as I've previously seen him wish Ramadan greetings to fellow Muslims. America seems to have progressed a bit as the country was known to have islamophobic values at one time. Good for WWE treating their wrestlers as people now and not attaching stereotypes. Another example is AEW owners the Khan's who have muslim background. Fans don't seem to care though. Am I seeing things through rose tinted glasses or am I correct? Let's discuss.

A wrestlers personal religious conviction shouldnt be mixed with the character they portray on tv.
The character and the person is not the same (I.e. Sami Zayn is not portrayed as a muslim in any way, even though Rami Sebei might be).
And it is usually too controversial to be worth it for some cheap heat.

You don't know many Muslims do you? They don't all wear traditional dress 24/7. Those from a Kurdish background tend to be more westernised for a start.

Yes he was banned because of political infighting between Saudi and Syria. Not all Muslims are mates lol and not all Muslims and Jews are enemies.

What does a Muslim look like? You may sit on a train next to one during your daily commute and not even know it. A bit like They Live lol. Dave Chappelle, Shaquille O'Neil, and Busta Rhymes are all muslim. Do they fit the stereotype?
Believe it or not Islam is all around you. Don't buy into media agenda that muslims are all bearded, wearing white robes and blowing up all the infidels lol.

You realize that being Jewish and Irish is possible too right? I don't ever recall hearing Kevin Owens is jewish but there is nothing that makes it unlikely.
It's also more of a Religion than Ethnicity! Jews don't always have a sterotype look, there are plenty wrestlers also who are Jewish and don't look any different from any other white american! Kevin Nash is also Jewish (remember reading that)
I might be wrong. His real name is Kevin Steen and I had heard he was Jewish but I just read this too. If I am indeed in error I formally apologize to Kevin Steen/Owens for accusing him of being a Jew.
