WOAT? Not sure about that. He seems highly athletic and you have to be a pretty ballsy MOFO to jump over the top rope onto an opponent with your hands in your pockets. I think the comedy schtick pretty much ran its course with the fake kicks though. Like an ongoing joke that was somewhat funny the first few times but shouldn't be used on anyone that resembles a serious opponent [Like PAC].

The people who think he should have been pushed to the main event just because he is over are highly delusional though lol.

For some reason I agree with all of your points but don't think he's the WOAT. I enjoy him a bit. The same way I enjoyed Santino when he had some actual good material. He's certainly not going to kill the company.

This was an amazingly fun match.

Santino was a talking comedic character though. I hardly ever see OC talk. If he has the ability to lead a comedic segment, he should show it. You can only go so far in the wrestling business if you barely ever talk [Unless your name is Brock Lesnar of course].

One thing I really like about Orange Cassidy is how much his act winds up the Wrestling purist.

Wrestling is subjective. Some people like high flying athletes, some people like strong style, some people like hocus pocus stuff, some people like the comedy stuff.

Some people like all or some of the above.

There's really no point getting wound up about it. There's so much variety now that if you don't like something you can just watch something else.

Thanks brah, I'm glad you're coming round on the whole someone who's gimmick is to not try, being booked in competitive matches with anyone else, makes anyone else look shit concept.

It was a bit worry you were struggling to get it for so long.
oh no, i am still way on the other side of the fence of that one

the flat earth ‘insult’ bit was just chef’s kiss though

with that level of creativity its a wonder people don’t listen to you more

He's overrated and overpushed, but WOAT? That's sensationalistic nonsense. Great Khali, George the animal Steele, Giant Silva, Hornswoggle? Countless, countless others from earlier eras I'm sure. Even in terms of others who have received his sort of push, Jinder Mahal? The Miz? Enzo Amore? David Flair? Or looking closer to home, Joey Janella, Mel, Luther? Come on now.
How can you put The Miz, Jinder, David Flair, Enzo, George Steele in the same category as Luther and Mel, that's just bull shit.

Prowrestling is supposed to be fun and Orange Cassidy is, actually, more fun than most "serious" wrestling acts.

I'll go further: He's the only reason I watch AEW sometimes. I'm not even exaggerating. I like Jericho, Goldust, Hardy, CM Punk, Christian and Bryan. I like them a lot, actually. But at the end of the day Orange Cassidy and his unique act stand out more to me than wrestlers I've already watched through most of their careers. I think I've never laughed so much while watching a gimmick. Orange Cassidy is what prowrestling is all about. Characters being played out and inside the ring. Over the top gimmicks. And, yes, sometimes even silly or goofy stuff. I'd watch Orange Cassidy shenanigans one thousand times before even considering watching a generic wrestling match between generic "athletes" in trunks. Heck, despite being a WWE guy, I've watched more Orange Cassidy stuff this year than Ricochet, Cole or Gargano content in all their years in WWE, combined.

So I cannot agree with you.

Unfortunately the children like orange Cassidy so he is not going anywhere.
Not only the children, mate.

On topic; I don't think he's as terrible as OP makes him out to be, but he's not really good either.

His offense looks pathetic, he botches quite a bit and most of all... he makes a farce of the match. I can suspend my disbelief a bit (Braun flipping the ambulance, for example), but in no world am I ever gonna believe he could beat anyone.

not even Adam Cole, Jungle Boy and Marko Stunt? ;)

Big disagree here. OC’s good.

Not gonna lie, it's really weird how you see the audience in AEW go nuts every time OC is in the ring, but when you go to this forum, it's like he's a cancer to wrestling.

Some of ya'll need to touch grass.

OC just outdrew Bryan vs Nick Jackson is a 10:45 pm Friday "DEATHSLOT" main event against lifetime curtain jerker Jack Evans. Put some respek on his name.
Why is deathslot in quotation marks there?

It IS a deathslot, which is what makes that number for Orange Cassidy on Rampage this past week more impressive.

He's a crap wrestler with a crap gimmick but he draws well with AEWs audience. I just change the channel whenever he shows up. Guys like him are why casuals and non wrestling fans laugh at professional wrestling.
Tbh, I think you guys need to talk to actual non wrestling fans
I live in a non wrestling country (Brazil) and people laugh at The Rock matches when I try to show them here because of how fucking goofy his punches are.
I'm fairly sure my family thinks I'm a closet homosexual because I watch semi naked men grapple and fake punch themselves.

I probably get more mileage out of high flying matches because at least people catching at glimpse of what I can watch see the athleticism and sometimes wacky lucha costumes and can dissassociate from the whole "this shit is gay as fuck" vibe that wrestling has.
